... to have no money~! XD fa-la-la-la?
*snickers* Ok, I have to get my sarcastic comment out for the day:
"ahh, December. How we enjoy your freezing temperatures, shitty weather, and holidays galore!"
Ok, now that I've got that out of my system, I suppose I should update life goings-on.
For those who haven't heard - YES I finally got a job and actually am working every week. Huzzah for me! I'm a night audit for a brand-spanking-new hotel over by the airport. Pretty much, my hours kinda suck, but the job is great. *cackles* I don't deal with people unless they come in really frigg'n late. I get to watch TV, sit on my butt, read, and play my DS after I finish all my paperwork for the night. The sad thing is, I work Fridays and Saturdays, so I'm litterally not available at all on weekends - which make it really hard to hang out with friends.
I don't mind my job, it's awesome. I just hate that I'm sleeping while everyone else in my family is awake and doing things. But I might get more hours if I agree to take a couple shifts for the evening guy during the week as he hasn't been in the best health the past couple of weeks. We'll see.
My only reprieve is Christmas - I get double time for working a holiday (and possibly over time~) and I get to avoid my family.... but I'll get to that in a bit.
Anyway, so now that I have a steady income - I can finally start paying off my student loans. I already made a huge payment, and actually paid off the one that doesn't accrue interest. Though, as my parents pointed out to me, I really should've made that big payment to the one that does accrue interest.... meh, hindsight and all that. But, because I made a huge assed payment, I have no money to buy X-mas/Yuletide gifts. Tis sad, but in all honesty, My student loans take more presidence over gifts. So I'll be doing a lot of re-gifting (*braces self for the rotten veggies*) or just doing mass calls out to friends and stuff.
But I'm glad I made that payment, it takes a large stresser out of my life for a bit.... at least until the next scheduled payment....
Onto my usual family bitching... it won't be so bad this time, promise!
Thanksgiving was nice. My mom invited my friend Ceinwyn and her room-mate to dinner with us and so I had someone to talk to besides my parents, sister, and aunt like I normally do. My boss tried to get me to come in, but I told her that I had already made other plans for the evening. True, I would've gotten time and a half, but then Ceinwyn would've felt really uncomfortable around my family without me there. And I don't blame her, as I feel the same way most of the time. But I'll be making it up with my X-mas paycheck. *cackle*
And during dinner, my mom and aunt said, "Oh, by the way, your cousin and her family and possibly your uncle and aunt will be coming for X-mas. Isn't that great?"
..... *sniff*.... *snicker* Yes. All the more reason to ask for more hours during their visit. ^^; Oh, don't get me wrong, this is my oldest cousin, Kaede, and her batch of kids - one of my favorites being Becca-boo, her youngest - and this is my Oldest Uncle, Dean, and my Aunt Marge - who is a character and she never ceases to amuse me with her antics - but with that many people.... guh!!
Too many people! Added to it, Kaede has a tendancy to remind me of my other aunt (Carol) and is... well... well-meaning but overbearing and I always feel like a bug under the microscope whenever she's around...
*sigh* good thing they're only staying a week.
And on a final note - I fail. Fail at Castlevania. Specifically "Order of Ecclesia". *headdesk* I'm constantly getting my ass kicked by bosses, so I go online and find out that it's like the easiest boss ever and I was just using the wrong weapons against it. *shakes fist* One day! I will find a castlevania that I won't suck at!!
