Contemplations & Dreams
*sighs* for some reason or another, my brain has been whirling all kinds of ideas and plans for what I could do with my life if I were to actually move with Cary to Vashon, Washington.
I've been looking up the usual info about the island, and it looks like a cute place. Not part of the big city, but fair-sized inof itself. Why my brain is thinking the thoughts it has, I can't tell you. I'm trying to focus on just finishing my degree program here first before I even think of planning anything long term.... but I figure if I write them out, they won't keep buzzing through my head all the time...
So, as any friends might know - I've often thought of working as a bartender, even opening my own place or managing the bar portion of a friend's restaurant.
but if I move to Vashon - that thought is shot all to hell 'cause there ain't no way I could drag friends somewhere simply 'cause I want to open a bar and be close to my brother. I can't have both and I know that all too well.
But this crazy thought struck me...
Opening an internet cafe OR a pub/bar&grill...
I have the basic knowledge and the interest to run an internet cafe - hell that's what I've been studying for the past few years in interest of my Web Tech degree. Of course I'd have to get certified as a CCNA ((*shudders*)) to even catch the interest of banks or backers... that and I know how most "average-shmuck" computer users think and know basically how to make sure they don't mess up my computers.
Naturally, I'd have a Cafe in my place - soda, coffee ((sadly i refuse to serve energy drinks 'cause I hate the damned stuff)), as well as usual snacks. *grins* but if you eat in the cafe, you bring your own laptop. no food will be allowed near my computers. >.<
'Course - as friends would know - my little internet cafe would appeal to just about everyone, but mainly to the older teen group. And - because I want to appeal to that age group (specificlly to those of 18), I will have a small room off to the side that will have hookas available.
It won't be as major as the Hooka lounge or Relux here in Albq. but hey! atleast I'll have it. I'd love to have a pub/bar&grill right next door and have certian days during the month were we have just a big party with hookas galore, belly dancers, and live music (( hopefully provided by local SCA members...))
Which brings me to the pub/bar&grill idea... just your average pub with good food and locally (( and personally )) produced beers and wines - along with the commonly-found drafts and mixed drinks.
I even thought of *rolls eyes skyward* names for my places...
