So, Zachary Isoma, the IB diploma holder. Sounds weird. Now that Ive gotten a chance to get over being so ecstatic about it, I guess I just have one more thing to do. Pull up my middle finger. To my english teacher who didnt think I should have been in honors classes, let alone IB. She pulled me aside and let me know she didnt think I was going to get a 3 on her exam. This is to you. Heres ur 4 and heres ur diploma. Now shut the fuck up. To Dan Harris and Dan Peshkin, who harrased me throughout my junior and senior year about being the most stupid in IB. Harris never got the diploma and no one likes Peshkin, aside from Harris. Heres your diploma, now shut the fuck up. To the rest who didnt want to say anything out of courtesy but doubted my ability to succeed and my intelligence, heres your diploma. Though this may seem like a bitter tangent, I am simply accentuating the fact that determination and perseverance can go a long way. Ive learned the biggest lesson I could have through this entire experience. Never let anyone get you down. No matter their status, age, color, or sex, dont let them get to you. Hold ur middle finger high and do it. Not to spite them, but because you know you can. After taking every criticism to heart and beating myself down as a result, this is what Ive learned. Along with integrity. God damn Im so happy. Allow this diploma to symbolize these lessons learned and, of course, my life philosophy. Never quit.
