I like the reasons you gave. alexanderyoshi February 17 2004, 23:03:52 UTC
I'd have to say that Naruto and Sakura are too similar to really get on well.

Plus the respect from Hinata means a lot to Naruto.

I think the Sakura doesn't see Naruto's hidden talent as well as Hinata does, and that's a bit more important than their being similar or not...
Hinata recognizes Naruto, which is key. And I think he knows it.

I don't know what I think, but I did watch a little of Naruto yesterday. The end theme roxx0rs my b0xx0rs. I nearly peed. OK not really.
Unfortunately for Naruto, I had just watched what has to be the most amazing episode of anything since FLCL, and ten million times as sad. A billion times. Dude, it was sadder than the end of Old Yeller. I'm not exaggerating.
So, it may be a few days before I can watch more Naruto. I absolutely have to see all of Full Metal Alchemist that's available before I move on. It's just that great.

Yeah, one of my other friends said Full Metal Alchemist is a must-see... I'm kinda waiting for more of it to be out before I start watching though. Naruto has some highly emotional scenes in it too, but I won't get into it so much since you haven't even seen many of the characters involved yet probably.
As far as the themes go though, I think Naruto's opening themes (there are 3 so far) have gotten better, and the ending themes have gotten pretty bad recently. Especially the third and fourth, though the third one grew on me after hearing the fourth. The second end theme, I could just never figure out what it had to do with Naruto... actually, come to think of it, very few of them seem to really have anything to do with Naruto... maybe I'm not looking deep enough.

That first ending theme had my jaw dropped. It sounds like The Police.

And, here's the difference between you and I. I would rather jump on a series at the beginning, so I'm not constantly playing catch-up. I prefer short series to long series, because it's easier to catch 'em all and I don't have to maintain my interest.
Naruto's already on episode 60 or something. That's like, a fuckload of episodes.
