[Midnight on the 6th- another warm night. If your journal is open tonight, you might hear this transmission, though your visuals are close to nil. Someone's new and out there in the forest, it seems.]

Is this how...? Right.Good evening. Pardon the interruption, but I must ask: This Guide- is any of it real? It sounds awfully quite a lot like ( Read more... )

Ah hello? Your question about the Guide, it's very real.

[So much yelling in this part of the forest, oh my.]

Is it? Including the parts about magic and all?

Yes, there are many people who can use magic here. Perhaps I can be assistance to you though in the means of getting to the village?

Like [muttermutter name] of [muttermutter book]? Interesting.

[Someone else is out tonight, and he's reminded that yes, it's a New Feather cycle. Yes, there are quite a few new people are out lately. These ones sound... very new.

That doesn't stop Yue from sounding mildly irritated when he responds, of course.]

If it sounds difficult to believe then you're likely reading it correctly.

Oh, it isn't necessarily difficult to believe, just- rather fanciful, that's all. That's why we have wings, isn't it?

[voice] winged_moon March 6 2011, 08:57:57 UTC
To make it more fanciful? I suppose that's one interpretation.

No, to convince us that it isn't just a story. What better way to convince someone that a story is true than to link it to something everyone has?

[It's really nice and all that it's warm outside, but that doesn't matter when you're missing your shirt. ...or your sword. Your beloved sword that you keep beside your bed when you fall asleep.

Elliot sat up as soon as he started yelling at his servant, and he looks around frantically. It's so dark that he can't quite tell, but Leo seems as... unclothed as he is.]

W-well?!

[Unclothed, indeed. Except that they're still decent, yes, yes. Leo looks up from the journal after he's done with that question. Man, Elliot, you're noisy.]

I haven't done anything to it.

Then where is it? [He's obviously very frustrated about this, but his next question lacks that same frustration.] Where... Where are we?

"Luceti", so they say. It's a rather fancy name, isn't it?

[Trust Elliot to worry about his sword the first though, though. Not that Leo is much different- he sighs as he runs his hand down his own face- his glasses, notably, are missing. Despite his uppity way of speaking to everyone so far, it's clear that he doesn't appreciate that one fact.

He does know where the sword is, though. Theoretically. But first-]

...have you ever dealt with kidnappers before, Elliot?

[Well, this is amusing. A small laugh is heard.]

Oh yes, it is certainly quite real. Fascinating, isn't it?

But your friend may like to know he can get his things back easily. There is a store in which to find them.

The forge and the...item store, wasn't it? It's difficult to remember exact names when you skim, I'm afraid.

But it is quite very fascinating, yes. It could make for a very interesting story.

Yes, the item store is where I got my clothes and my sword back. It was really quite kind of our captors, really.

That's what I think, too. It'd be best to return home...[Understatement.] But at least this is entertaining.

I am Count Waltz.

It sounds rather like our captors find it immensely entertaining as well. Or perhaps they're confident enough that we'll never be able to muster up enough to escape?

[A count, though. Interesting- and here, he'll glance over at Elliot who's probably reading over his shoulder and raise his eyebrows. He wasn't all too familiar with nobility back home and if anyone knows who's who- well, Elliot might.]

Leo, [...] sir. I apologise, I wasn't aware that we were speaking to nobility.

[So boys, your shouting has woken up this gal who has a habit of knocking her journal open in her sleep. So have a yawn first of all and then you'll get your reply.]

Whoever's looking for their sword, it'll be in the Smithy in the village.

As for the guide, it's real.

[Of course, Elliot isn't too concerned that he just woke someone up. Especially not when his sword was mentioned. That's obviously the more important part.

...but that's so strange.]

Why the hell would my sword be in a place like that?

Reply

boomchucka March 7 2011, 00:53:04 UTC
For that you'd have to ask the Malnosso; they're the people who brought us here. Your sword would be there because that's where people's weapons wind up.

[Well, filing that last bit away for info since he couldn't really squint enough to make things out from the map in the Guide. It'd been far too dark.]

I don't suppose they'd be keen on talking to us?
