We have live journals now!

Hello and welcome to my livejournal! I've had a deadjournal for a while now but so many peoples use livejouranl so I made one. So here's my last post from my deadjouranl:

Wow, I have been neglecting several things in my life lately. I've been very focused on my work, but I should never forget the things that I care about.

Since I started at Apple i've been able to regain a few things that I used to normally do, such as sword fighting and D&D. And i've gained a new addiction, Final Fantasy XI (A massively multiplayer online roleplaying game [MMORPG}). It's very fun and very addicting. I usually spend my days off playing it all day. Occasionally i'll go play D&D or play DDR, which both involve Mike.

I've been seeing him a lot lately. Everything that isn't work or home involves him right now. I think it's time to change that. Not that I don't enjoy hanging out with him. I need to spread out my activities now. Mike changes without warning sometimes, that probably will never change.

Here's a list of stuff that I need to do:
Visit Little Tokyo
Get in touch with lost friends
Go see a movie with friends
Hang out with lost friends
Go to the beach
Go to Hollywood

That's all I can think of right now but there's probably more. With only two days without work every week it will be a while before I can do all of them. But no time better to get started than now.

My last post I announced my hireing at Apple. Since then I was chosen to stay as a permanent employee. The other guy was not very well liked. One insident that I find quite hallerious is the day that he crapped his pants and had to go home. He also insulted a celebrity customer. Not a good thing if you're trying to prove yourself as a good employee. Anyways, I'm enjoying my job very much. Though there's one guy there that seems to be against me. His name is Steve and he's a keyholder (first level manager). He's very rude to me and calls me on stuff that technically is wrong but it's either not a big deal or others do it all the time. Like one time I wanted to buy a product after my shift was over. Since that day was hot I didn't bring my jackets so I was just in my Apple shirt. While I was waiting in line a customer approached me and told me they were ready to buy the computer I had talked to them about a few days ago. Since there were a few people ahead of me I asked him which one and afterwards I went behind the counter to tell Steve what computer he wanted. Before I could start talking he snapped at me, telling me that I cannot work off the clock. Technically he was right but I don't think anyone would mind what I did. I talked to him on my own free time. Anyways, other than that it's pretty fun.

In January I took a trip with Mike so we could go to the MacWorld Convention (big Apple event thingy which I was informed that I could get into for free) in San Francisco and visit Apple Campus (HQ) in Cupertino. When we arrived in Cupertino Mike decided to go to our hotel in Hayward to check in while I checked out Apple. He had no interest in the reasons why we were traveling, he just thought it'd be fun to go on a road trip. So I went in and told the receptionist i'm an employee from the Northridge retail store, she gave me a temp pass, and I used my pass to enter the quad. Apple is setup just like a school campus, that's why they call it Apple Campus. The quad has a big stage area and a sand volleyball court. On the other side from the entrance is Caffe Macs (the cafeteria). When I entered the place was packed! Lots of people of different age and clothes were eating and socializing. Caffe Macs has pretty much every food imagineable, including Sushi! When I went to the sushi area I noticed they had something called Unagi Soba which is my favorite sushi eel ontop of large noodle soup. So I grabbed that and some lemonaid and sat down next to the window. I noticed several people watching me as I ate. I realize that I look much younger than I am, so to them they might have thought I was an employee's child, which should not be left alone while inside Apple. After I ate I went to the badging office to attain my own employee badge capable of opening locked doors. The lady there was very nice. She had me position in several ways. I don't really like my smile too much, but she got me to smile one of the times. When she asked me which photo to choose she recommended the one where I smiled, so that's the one I grabbed. So I got my badge and then went to The Company Store where they sell special Apple logo merchandise. I bought a cap, a jacket, and a lock for my locker at work. I then went back to Caffe Macs, grabbed another drink, and waited for Mike to contact me when he got back from the hotel. After he arrived we went to the hotel in Hayward. It was pretty nice. Since it was not too late we decided to go over to The Metreon in San Francisco. The Metreon is a large Sony owned building that sells and showcases Sony products and also has an arcade. When we got there we played some DDR and other arcade games, he bought a video game, and I bought an anime. We then had dinner and went back to the hotel.

The next morning we went to San Francisco to attend MacWorld. When I got there I presented my badge and asked for a pass. But they told me that if I am not there to work an Apple booth then I cannot get in. Since I didn't want to abandon Mike for who knows how long I decided to walk around San Francisco instead. We went to China Town and Japan Town. We got a little lost after we got to Japan Town but fortunately I had my trusty Sidekick (T-Mobile Sidekick) which I used to go to mapquest.com and found our way back to the car. We then traveled back home to Newbury Park. It was a very fun and eventful trip for me, however Mike didn't really enjoy it too much. I think Mike had some hopes of this trip which were somewhat unreasonable. He asked that we have separate rooms, which is more expensive for both of us. He wouldn't tell me at first why he wanted separate room but later he told me he was hoping to go to a club and pick up a girl to take back. Yeah, like that's gonna happen. It was a two day trip. The one night we were there he didn't say anything about going anywhere to pick up girls. And also Hayward isn't the best neighborhood to bring girls from San Francisco to, and it's kinda far. I found out months after this that Mike would have prefered if I had stayed at MacWorld to work while he explored on his own. I guess that's where he was hoping to find a girl. But that was also the day that we were going back home so I donno what he could do in the middle of the day. I am definately going to MacWorld next year and nothing is gonna stop me! I want to go there to work the booth so I can represent my company in a different way. Also I want one of those cool Apple Staff shirts.

Okay, I think this is the last thing I must mention in this post. I know it's been long but stick with me! Okay, so a few weeks ago I recieved my bonus for the last quarter and finally attained enough money to buy a new computer. With my Apple discount I was able to afford a normally $1099 new iBook for $850. Shortly after I ordered my iBook my dad approached me and told me he wants to buy a computer for my little sister, Tara. So I told him about the cheapest computer we sell, the eMac, and that i'd pay him to grab it with a DVD burner since I don't have one. Then a few days after I ordered the eMac I realized "Why give her a new computer which has more power than she needs rather than just hand my old iMac to her and let me have the new eMac?!". So I cut a deal with Tara to allow the switch. So now she has my old computer and I set it up with all the basic stuff she wants to use plus I now owe her $100 and now I have a brand new eMac. So now I have two new computers and only paid about $1000! I'd say that's a very good deal!

I think i'm done now! Hopefully i'll give you guys some more frequent posts. To be honest, i'm not even sure if anyone reads this anymore... this concerns me. If you have read this please give me a comment so I know you're there.

Until next time, I wish you all much love and happiness!
