Backstory
Säde had two brothers, Juuso and Mika. Juuso, at twenty, entered the Diamonds as a Two, rising quickly through the ranks and attaining Nine rank at twenty-five. Unfortunately, he lost a fight with a Seven and dropped back to Eight, and never got further. He died half a year later, challenging a Ten in an all-too-bloody fight that ended with his guts out of his stomach. At this time, Säde was nineteen, a Five (having followed Juuso into the Diamonds at seventeen), and missing her brother Mika. This tragedy sent her running back home to her brother… to her brother’s arms.
Säde had always loved her brothers too much.
Mika had been the one to pull away. He never understood the Deck, or why his brother and sister should want any part of it. Angry and still sick with grief, Säde returned to the Diamonds and threw herself into her assignments, honing every skill that she could convince one Diamond or another to teach her, mental or physical (though largely more mental, in the long run). She became an Eight in barely more than a year.
When she was twenty-one, she met Frederick Winston, an affluent man nearly sixty years her senior. Frederick was part of no Suit, but had many ties to the Deck. She married him within half a year, and was widowed in two months. This marriage, and subsequent inheritance, enabled her leap to Ten.
She was only twenty-two, and the Ace she aided was Rachel.
When the Queen of Diamonds died, Rachel became the Queen. Hector, content to remain Jack, helped Säde become the Ace of Diamonds. He’d been a friend of Juuso, and he understood that Juuso’s sister deserved this promotion. Säde became Ace at twenty-five.
Säde is now thirty-two, an Ace with a hardened heart and a sharpened smile. Best not to cross her. She may not be so wily as a Spade, but she knows more than you think she knows about you.
Mika Pekkanen is elsewhere. They keep in touch. They never mention the months after Juuso's death.
[ooc: None of this is necessary for any Playing Card character to know unless they're a Diamond or have been around in the Deck as long as Säde. Blackmail could certainly be used, but please keep it plausible- the incest part definitely would not be found out unless someone closely investigates Mika, who is not part of the Deck.]
