Ten Things an Atenean Can Do for the Environment
1. Use recycled paper.
2. Unplug electric appliances when not in use because they also consume elecricity. (i.e., unplug your laptop when the battery is fully charged)
3. Avoid riding tricycles , walk instead.
4. Be an example of 'Bring Your Own Baunan' to reduce trash.
5. Buying sachet adds to trash so buy bottled shampoos and conditioners instead.
6. Advocate the use of recyclable bags.
7. Check for leaks in your pipelines to conserve water.
8. Maximize your trips to school. Instead of riding your private cars to school:
a. Join carpool or group driving, or
b. Commute
9. Maintain your cars. This is also for the environment as there will be less gas consumption and such. Check your tire pressure once every week and do not be a smoke belcher.
10. If your clothes are not yet dirty, do not wash them yet. Wash clothes in batches to conserve water, energy, detergent and your clothes (lessens wear and tear).
