Good Afternoon,
I know hot on the coat tails of the other entry. You would think I was bored at work or something.
This was a good event on the most part. I came down for the fighting. Other good things happened.
The trip there and back was something else. About Fort Macleoud to Sparwood on highway 3 we ran into a snow storm. No one else did. We decided to not hit any bugs on the way down but hit a small bird. I am not sure where it happened but it landed on my drivers side fog lamp. We kinda got lost on the way up to site but got there on time. A little before our travel mates.
The actualy fighting was good. Got good instruction and a lot to think about. There was some intra-camp stress but it sorted itself out on it's own.
Good:
* Blue and Kirk got put on vigil for their respective peerages. Awesome!
* Fighting. All the steel I could handle. Got great advice back.
* I wasn't supposed to get into the white scarf invitational but then I took Godfrey's shield to the face.
* good food and company.
* All Borealis final for crown. It is just unusual to get those people in the quarter finals let alone the finals.
* Unexpected friends on site.
Bad
* Got a touch of heat stroke, wasn't really hitting any parties I wanted to.
* Got pulled aside and almost searched going down to site at the border. Apparently we look like kid nappers.
* Some strife and other things around camp. Not really visable but ever present.
* Left later than I would have liked on Sunday. Got to Lethbridge at 1am.
* The holmgang tourney was awesome but the rules were enforced differently depending on the eric.
Ugly
* Nothing really.
Meh
* Didn't drink as much as I wanted too.
* Didn't really perform as well as I wanted to in the tournies in retrospect though the numbers show different.
* site was a little crowded. They weren't expecting as many that showed up.
* Merchants row was a little... bare.
That is about it to be honest. Good event. Was it worth the travel time. I think so. Barely.
may crown,
