leda13 Favourite story of 2006: "
The Last Temptation of Jerott Blythe" (Lymond Chronicles). This is the only fic in existence that feaures my OTP. So what if I wrote it myself?
Best story I wrote, 2006:
High Magic (Harry Potter). Once in a while, I feel like everything comes together for me. This is one of the few times I like the execution as much as I did the idea.
Most Underappreciated story I wrote in 2006 (imho):
What Rough Beast (Harry Potter), but that was probably my fault for posting on Christmas Eve. Other than that, you all have been fairly generous with the love :)
Most Fun Story:
Fantastic Breasts and Where to Find Them (Harry Potter). I can be funny. It's not all angsty Snape/ Lucius here. Just mostly. I did have fun writing this, and I think it shows.
Sexiest Story:
The Re-education of Lucius Malfoy (Harry Potter). I guess. Maybe. Even when I write porn, it never really comes out porny. I actually think
Saints & Sinners (Harry Potter) might be a contender, too.
"Holy Crap, that's wrong, even for you": Um. Where do I start? Just kidding. This year it was easily
Ten Things About the Kennedys You Never Learned in A.P. US History (Historic RPF). See, I was raised by a lapsed Irish Catholic and a staunchly liberal agnostic. In my family, the Kennedys really are more sacred than Jesus. Distant runner-up would be
A Flame in the Dark (Harry Potter).
Story that shifted my perceptions of a character:
The White Queen (Lymond Chronicles). Of all the characters I don't really understand, Sybilla Crawford has to be number one. I still don't get her, but now at least I like her. Well. A little.
Hardest Story to do:
A Peace That Was Torn from the Morning (Harry Potter). I would rather be hit by a truck than write this story again. It did not flow at all. I had to scratch it out word by painful word.
Biggest Disappointment:
Vigil (Supernatural). I loved writing this story, right up until the end, and then poof. I blew it. Oh well.
Story I want remembered: Tie between
Going Pro and
This Is the Land All Causes Lead To (both Harry Potter). I wish there could be a series about Lucius Malfoy--his failed Quidditch career, his fanatical Orthodox girlfriend, the six months he spent with the Peace Corps in Zaire, the time he and Snape spent six months undercover working as grooms at a racing stable near Doncaster, in an attempt to fix the Grand National and destroy Muggle morale. How awesome would that be?
Fic I still love most from 2005:
Houses of Stone (Harry Potter). This might actually be my favorite ever. Hard to say.
