... in no particular order:
- I finally submitted the manuscript that WOULD NOT DIE. AHAHAHAHA! Mine is a... submitted? laugh. Um. Whatever! It is approximately two weeks before it rises from the dead like a zombie AUGH ZOMBIE MANUSCRIPT I hear back from the editor, huzzah!
- I have been reading so much Merlin fic, people. SO MUCH. It is sparkly gay crack. This is true if you take the crack analogy to a "hideously addictive" place, OR to a "aus and bodyswap and unicorns" place. IT IS CRACK IN BOTH WAYS.
- I am trying to be better at leaving fb on fic, as sort of a New Year's Resolution-y thing, but it seems to come and go. I think my problem is that I get all caught up in leaving the comments, and so it turns into an embarrassingly long comment? Or I want to go back and pick out specific lines or scenes and deconstruct them, and stuff. I am coming to terms with the idea that I am the person who is meant to do DVD commentaries. It is a strange trait, I think.
- Listened to the first two tracks of Franz Ferdinand's new album. Internets, where is my free copy? I know it is out there somewhere...
- I signed up for 14valentines! Woo!
- Salsa lessons. Fun!
- Kareoke! Also fun! The grad house does kareoke once a month or so, and it makes me happy. There was a nice moment the last time, where a couple of new people--international students, I think?--unfamiliar with either kareoke in general, and with the usual level of irony, got up to unironically do "My Heart Will Go On" and when they had trouble with it the WHOLE ROOM FULL OF PEOPLE just belted it out with them, in a supportive, non-ironic way. It was heartwarming! (Also, irony and variations thereon no longer look like words.)
- Made chocolate-chip banana muffins. These are, like, THE ONE MUFFIN. Except there were, like 12 of them, obviously.
Um. There have been other things - I am having one of those, "seriously, what next?!?" kinds of weeks (problems with insurance, owing back taxes plus interest, problems with cell phone bill, CELL PHONE GETTING RECALLED), but at this point it is amusing. I am hoping that the next step is cell phone radiation gives me superpowers!
