Oh, holidays, why must you be so SHORT? *SIGH* Heading back to school tomorrow (wtf, yo. January 3rd is too soon.)
Although short, the holidays were good to me here in lj-land - I got TWO (OMG!) stories for my
yuletide request of Helen/Hector from Classical Mythology. EEE. I have an oooold journal, somewhere, on which there is a page that says something like, "Paris is LAME. If I were Helen, Andromache wouldn't stand a chance."
... It's funny. That a) pre-dates my awareness of fanfic and b) explains so much. Heh.
ANYWAY. My two stories are both great (I love
yuletide, everyone brings their A-game, it always seems), and both so different, which I think is my favourite part. Check 'em out:
Akhos, by Corbeaun (
corbeaun)
Summary: It is the lot of men to die and go down wailing to the house of Hades with only a song to remember them by.
In Defense, by Flora (
florahart)
Summary: Paris is boring, and Helen looks elsewhere.
Thanks again to both of my Santas!
While we're naming names, I suppose that I should own up to mine. ;) I wrote for Bast (
ckr), some Dirk/Al from the Sahara movieverse:
Like Reykjavik (Don't Blow Your Luck)Summary: "I always thought that Reykjavik was one of my best plans."
Author's notes: Beta by the ever wonderful
starfishchick, my apologies for breaking physics (well, maybe just hydrodynamics?), and yes, the
dinosaur bone boat is real.
