“I can save him,” Chloe whispered, running over to the two men and kneeling beside Clark.
“I couldn’t stop myself,” Oliver replied, looking up at Chloe with more anguish in his eyes than she had ever seen before.
Grabbing his hand she said, “Oliver, I can save him, you just have to move back.”
Taking in a deep breath Clark protested, “No, Chloe. No, Chloe, no.”
Looking down at Clark she replied, “It’s going to be ok Clark.”
“No, don’t heal me,” Clark argued.
Taking a deep breath as Oliver moved back Chloe placed her hand over his wound. Shutting her eyes she concentrated on letting the warmth she felt when her healing power activated flow through her veins. Gasping at the initial sting of the wound Chloe held on, waiting, as her power coursed out, reaching further and pulling the wound from Oliver’s body.
As her power moved through Clark’s body she watched as her hands became surrounded by a white light that let her watch as it sewed Clark’s skin together and tore Chloe’s apart. Taking a shaky breath she held on as the wounds on Clark’s chest finally closed and the light evaporated from his body. Finally it was only surrounding her and Chloe waited for the last piece pain to fall into place before the light dissipated and her conscious went with it for a while.
-------
Watching as Chloe and Clark’s body were surrounded by a bright white light Oliver felt confused. He had no idea what Chloe was talking about when she had said she could heal him but he prayed that it meant they would both be ok. When the light had erupted throughout Oliver was unsure of what to do, he wanted to rip Chloe away from Clark, make her explain, but he saw Clark’s eyes begin to open and his breath begin to even out Oliver was amazed. He couldn’t believe that Chloe had actually done it. She had fixed his mistake. It was amazing and she was amazing for doing this.
As the light disappeared from around them Oliver reached over Clark to grab Chloe as her body slid the ground. Pulling her close he watched as Clark sucked in a deep breath, his chest unmarked. He couldn’t believe it. Seconds ago Clark was dying right before his eyes and now he was alive. Chloe however was the exact opposite. He was very confused as to what was happening. Waving Dinah and AC over as they stood, frozen at the bottom of the stairs having arrived whilst he was distracted, he signalled for them to help Clark up as he shifted Chloe in his arms. Allowing them to lead the way out they boarded his jet quickly.
Once everyone was settled and they were in the air, with Black Creek having exploded behind them, that was when the questions started to fly.
“What happened?”
“Why was Chloe hurt?”
“Why was Chloe even there?”
“Is she meteor infected now?”
“Why didn’t she tell us? She can trust us.”
“What happened to you Clark?”
“One question at a time,” Oliver said trying to bring some order to Dinah and AC. He knew that they were confused. Hell he was just as confused about it all but he knew that having them all bombard Clark with questions wasn’t the way to go about it.
“I’ll answer anything but I think that Chloe should answer any questions she has about herself.” Clark replied.
“Really?” Oliver argued, “Cause right now all I know is that she is passed out because of something she did to you.”
“She has the ability to heal,” Clark whispered, “But it takes a toll on her body.”
“I killed her. Is that what you’re saying? Because I killed you I’ve essentially killed her?”
“In a way. The only difference is that she will wake up. It’s like her body needs time to recuperate after healing someone. The worse the injury the longer she’ll be out.”
“So how long will she be out this time?”
“A day… Maybe more.”
“How did Clark end up dying?” Dinah asked, “Because last time I checked he didn’t get killed by a lot.”
“I shot him,” Oliver sighed, “With a kryptonite arrow.”
“That explains some of it. So Oliver shot Clark, Clark was dying and so Chloe healed him.” AC said, trying to clarify that he had the correct information.
“Yes, and now we just have to wait for Chloe to wake up.”
Hours passed. They landed in Metropolis. Dinah and AC decided to stay until they knew for certain that Chloe was ok. They rang Bart and Victor, who was currently on location in Brazil, to let them know that they had found both Clark and Chloe and that there was no need for them to rush to Metropolis. That didn’t stop Bart from running with Victor through the front door ten minutes later, complaining about how heavy the computer man was and how he needed far more food than what was kept in Oliver’s penthouse apartment.
Whilst Bart was out on a food run Chloe snapped up, taking a big, deep, gulping breath before sagging back into the couch. Clark was at her side in a second with the other four following closely behind, each of them placing a hand on the closet body part they could find.
“I’m ok,” Chloe whispered, in an almost panting like voice, “I’m ok.”
“Yeah you are.” Clark replied.
------------
Three days later, after he’d sent the team away on a mission, Oliver found himself at the Talon, walking up the stairs to see Chloe. He needed answers, something to explain what was happening.
Knocking on the door he was shocked when she opened it immediately, stepping aside automatically to let him in.
“How did you know that I’d be here?”
Chloe shrugged, “I figured you’d rock up sooner or later. In fact I expected you to be here yesterday.”
“I figured you would need some sleep, some coffee, and food before you’d be ready for the conversation.”
“Well thank you but I don’t know what you want to talk about. Clark said he told you all that he knew and that’s all that I know.”
“So you don’t know anything more. Don’t want to know anything more.”
Chloe shook her head, “It still works. I still come back to life. Until it stops working I’m going to do my best to avoid it.”
“You can’t do that forever.”
“I know but it’s all I’ve for at the moment. I spent my teenage years persecuting meteor freaks. I’m not ready to become one.”
“You won’t,” Oliver whisperer, laying a hand on her arm, “You won’t. I won’t let you and neither will the team.”
“You can’t promise me that.”
Oliver shrugged, “Maybe not but I can promise that if you start turning into a murdering meteor freak I’ll do everything in my power to help save you. Until then you’re just one of the meteor infected, whom I happen to work with on a daily basis because they have an amazing sense of right and justice.”
“Thank you.”
“You are more than welcome Chloe. I’ll do anything I can to help.”
“I know you will.”

The end.
