Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3 Chpater 4 Chapter 5 Chapter 6 Chapter 7 Chapter 8 Chapter 9 Chapter 10 Chapter 11 Chapter 12 Chapter 13 Watching Chloe storm off the elevator Oliver sighed. While he was glad that she had wanted to come to the event with him tonight he didn’t like the fact that she had spent the majority of the evening pouting.
Turning to face him Chloe said, “If that’s all I’m going home.”
Taking off his jacket and tie Oliver moved past her to dump them on the couch before replying, “I didn’t force you to come. I just happened to mention that I was going while we were talking about AC. You’re the one who showed up on my doorstep, deciding to join me.”
“If I hadn’t come someone would have commented about how we were broken up and the bimbos out there would have thought it was ok for them to throw themselves at you,” Chloe scoffed.
“Well, Chloe, why don’t you and your high horse go home? If this is how you’re going to continue to act then I don’t see a point in being in this relationship.”
“So now this is my fault. You don’t think you have any blame in this at all,” Chloe replied, “We wouldn’t be like this if it wasn’t for you.”
“Ok so this payback then. I mean this is how I treated during the whole Jimmy thing. Now you’re blowing this stupid thing out of proportion so you can get back at me.” Oliver scoffed.
“For the last time, Jimmy has nothing to do with this.”
“No for once it’s something stupid that you won’t let blow over so instead we spend our nights apart and our time together arguing.”
“Well I’m sorry, next time I’ll remember to act more like one of your brainless bimbos.”
“If you think that’s what I want then clearly have a bigger problem than either of us expected.” Oliver cried, “And I won’t be a part of this any longer if this is how you’re going to be treating me. I’m not the enemy; I just didn’t tell you my whole life story.”
“Whatever,” Chloe scoffed, “I’m so over this arguing. It’s supposed easy, isn’t it, when you care about the person your with.”
Oliver shrugged, “That’s the theory.”
“So why can’t it ever be easy with us.”
“Maybe because we care about each other too much or we’re not ready for this. Maybe this started at the wrong point of our lives,” Oliver replied sadly, “Maybe if we had meet when we were older we wouldn’t be having these problem.”
Chloe nodded sadly, “So this is where we give up?”
“I can’t be the only one fighting for us Chloe, it won’t work that way,” Oliver replied moving closer to her, “I don’t want to give up but I don’t think we can continue like this.”
Chloe nodded, “You’re right. I don’t know what to do anymore. I care about you so much but that doesn’t seem like it’s enough right now.”
Shaking his head Oliver said, “I know,” before leaning in and kissing her. Wrapping both arms around her he pulled her closer as his tongue fought with hers for dominance. He couldn’t understand how kissing Chloe could feel so right when all they did was argue. Running a hand through her hair he let his other hand wonder her body, familiarizing himself with her curves that he loved so much, one last time. He was so caught up in her that he almost didn’t hear the cries for help echoing their way up through the balcony door.
Pulling away he glanced over he’s shoulder before looking back at her and opening his mouth to speak.
Cutting him off Chloe said, “Go. I’m not sure break up sex would be a good thing for us anyway,” before she stepped out of his embrace and headed to the elevator, waiting for it to come and get him.
Sighing Oliver headed over to quickly stripping away his suit and pulling on his gear. Slinging his quiver over his back he grabbed his glasses and bow, heading straight for the balcony window making sure that he didn’t look back over his shoulder to confirm that Chloe had left. Lining up his shoot he swung straight onto the balcony of a nearby building. Running along he peered over the ledge looking down at the couple as the thug’s demands became more evident.
“Come on! Get out of the car! Get out!” the thug yelled. Noticing the guns Oliver loaded his small crossbow with atasor before opening he’s compound bow and loading an arrow. Positioning himself carefully Oliver released the arrow so that it hit the car’s side mirror.
Watching as the thugs turned to see who was shooting at them he jumped down off the roof of the building and onto the one of a nearby car. Smirking as they looked at him he said, “They don’t look like they want your attention but I do.”
Moving forward he pulled out his crossbow as he pocketed his compound bow. Shooting the first arrow off it hit one of the thugs in the shoulder as the other ran away. Sighing Oliver pulled out his handcuffs placing them around the wrist of thug and the steering wheel patting his chest he said, “Don’t worry. The cops will have the key.”
Glancing around him he saw the couple he had just saved heading away from them running into the closest building. Smiling Oliver backed away so that he could case down the other thug. Moving to turn in the direction that he went he stopped when he heard the click of a gun. Turning slowly he saw the other thug standing in front of him with a gun pointed to his head. Raising his hands slowly, to show he was unarmed, he waited for the thug to make he’s move.
“Surprise,” he said before pulling the trigger. Gasping as the bullet went into his chest Oliver looked down at the hole as his legs fell out from under him. Moving his hand up to the hole he felt the warm blood sweeping out run onto his fingers. Taking shuddered breaths he tried to gather his wits as the blood continued to sweep out and onto the ground. Vaguely he could hear the sounds of someone’s footsteps coming over to him but all he seemed to be able to see or think about was getting out of there and Chloe.
Taking the deepest breath that he could he rose to his feet slowly. He knew that he had to get back to his penthouse. The drug that he had been having formulating would be perfectly tested against this wound but he didn’t carry it on him. Slowly he started to move in the direction of the penthouse, trying to keep to the shadows, he’s only thought was of getting to the drug so he would have the opportunity to see Chloe one more time.
***********
Stepping off the elevator Clark looked around. It wasn’t every day that he didn’t just speed into the penthouse but he figured if the story on the front page of the paper was true then he didn’t want the police, if there were any, to see him there without entering properly. Walking into the front room he was shocked to see Oliver lifting weights without a shirt on.
Stopping he looked over Oliver’s body before saying, “You’re looking awfully healthy.”
“It’s called exercise,” Oliver replied, lifting his head to look at Clark, “We mere mortals are required to do it from time to time.”
Clark shook his head, “According to the Daily Planet, the Green Arrow was shot last night.” Clark replied, “And since it’s the paper you’re girlfriend and my best friend works for I figured I should come see if that’s true.”
“If I was shot I’d be in a hospital or morgue,” Oliver replied dropping the weight and heading over to his desk, “I’m not bullet proof Clark. Shouldn’t you know better than to believe everything you in read in the newspaper anyway?”
“It’s the Daily Planet, not the Inquisitor. Anyway a witness saw you lying in a pool of blood after you saved him and his wife.”
“I’ll admit I saved two people from a carjacking last night but maybe they saw someone else with a preference for green.”
Looking around the room Clark felt as if something was off but as far as he could see this place looked like it always had. Glancing over at his desk Clark stopped and said, “Why is your Green Arrow gear out? What if it had been someone other than me or Chloe?”
Oliver sighed, “Not that it’s your business Clark but I’m uploading a video.” Walking over to the desk he picked up his glasses, “Chloe put in a camera so that now even if the scumbags get away I’m able to track them down and stop them.”
“Ok then why’s your costume out? I understand the glasses but is there really a need for the rest of it especially considering your door is unlocked.” Clark protested.
“You know what I’ve had a lot on my mind lately. And since you’re too busy using your powers to bale hay I’ve been single handily dealing with a crime wave. So how about we make a deal. When you’re ready to help me deal with the crime wave then I’ll listen to your lecture about how sloppy I’ve become ok?”
Clark scoffed, “I didn’t come here to be insulted.”
“You know what Clark, there’s the door,” Oliver replied pointing to it as he grabbed the glass of water on the desk, “I don’t remember inviting you so feel free to leave if this is all too much for you.”
“What is going on with you? Is the situation with Chloe? Is that what is making you act like this?” Clark asked.
“Well why don’t we hug it out and talk about our emotions? All that touchy feely crap you seem to like so much. Guess what Clark I’m not taking advice from a guy who’s too worried about his identity than anyone else.”
“That’s a lie.” Clark replied, “And I’m only trying to help.”
Watching as Oliver clenched his jaw Clark was surprised when the glass in his hand shattered suddenly.
“Why don’t you get out,” Oliver replied dumping the glass into the bin, “you can lecture me all you want when you’re out there on the streets protecting people like me ok.”
“Are you alright?”
“I’m fine Clark, now get out,” Oliver growled.
Turning Clark left quickly through the elevator. Hitting the emergency stop button just as the elevator started to move Clark squinted until his x-ray vision came online. Looking around the room for Oliver he stopped when he saw him pull out a syringe and place it into his arm, shooting whatever was inside straight into his system. Sighing Clark stopped looking and pressed the button again to make the elevator go, knowing he would have to do something to keep Chloe safe.
*********
“I’m just glad to hear you’re ok,” Chloe whispered. Running a hand through her hair she drew in a deep breath through her nose. She had been worried and on edge since she had gotten to work. Of course she had read the morning paper til then and since her editor was sitting at his desk she couldn’t get up and see Oliver, especially when no one else knew that he was the Green Arrow. So she was forced to sit at her desk and wait.
Chloe was just glad that Oliver had thought to call when he had. She was about to leave to see him, not being able to sit there any long, she would have just called it an early lunch. Now she didn’t have to and while talking to him wasn’t the same as being able to see with her own eyes that he was ok it would be more than enough for the time being.
“So what now? Are going to go after the other thug?” Chloe asked.
“I can. The camera you installed into my glasses got a pretty good visual of where he went. I’d be more than able to follow a path back to him.”
“But you’re sure you are ok?’ Chloe whispered. “Maybe you should wait a few days.”
“I fine Chloe, I wasn’t shot.” Oliver replied, knowing that he wasn’t telling her the truth, “And the sooner this guy is locked up the sooner we can finish our other conversation.”
Chloe nodded, “Ok but wait for me and I’ll do my Watchtower thing while you’re out there. I just want to know you’re ok, just this one.”
Oliver smiled, “I can handle that.’
Hearing the door open Chloe smiled as Clark came in. Waving to him she said, “Ok I’ll come over after work tonight... bye.” Before hanging up and turning to face Clark, “So what can I do for you?”
“I need you to check into something for me,” Clark replied, holding up a bag with an almost empty syringe in it. “I need to know what this does.”
“Why?” Chloe asked, taking the bag off him, “Who does it belong to?”
Clark sighed and said, “It’s from Oliver’s place. I saw him inject himself with it this morning.”
“You went over there. Why didn’t you tell me?” Chloe said.
“Cause I wanted to make sure he was ok before getting you involved.”
“Clark, I’m pretty sure I’m in love with Oliver and even we’re fighting and probably breaking up that is still something that I would want to know.” Chloe said leaving the copy room. Taking a closer look at the syringe she said, “This doesn’t look like a party favour.”
“I don’t think it is,” Clark replied, “And I’m sorry Chloe.”
“I don’t think sorry is going to cut it this time Clark.” Chloe replied, “How did you get this?”
Clark shrugged, “I may have broken into his apartment. There’s clearly residual substance left I figured that you could get someone to figure out what it is.”
“Clark,” Chloe whispered, “Ollie is not getting high. I know that.”
“I’m not saying he is but I think we need to know what he’s taking. It could explain what happened to him last night.”
“Last night he stopped a carjacking that’s it. I know. He can’t be lying to me Clark. I don’t know if we’d be able to get back from that.” Chloe replied, “But I’m going to text my bio-chem buddy at Met U to prove you wrong.”
“Why don’t you believe me? There was once a time you’d believe anything I said.”
“That time was so long ago it isn’t funny,” Chloe replied, “And the victim never saw Green Arrow get shot neither did the people he saved.” Grabbing his arm she pulled him over to the elevator, “Now please leave. I’m supposed to be having lunch with Lana in a few minutes.”
Clark nodded, “Ok. I’ll see you later.”
“Yeah.Tomorrow, for Thanksgiving.”
Watching as he left Chloe sighed. Juggling both Lana and Clark had become easier since she had taken Oliver’s advice and stopped being a go between. It had kept her friendship with Clark intact and had made her relationship with Lana stronger. Of course the fact they were both dating billionaires helped a lot as they were able to talk out the issues that came with that fact.
Smiling as Lana walked over to see her she said, “I hope you didn’t see Clark on your way in. I tried to send him away before you got here.”
“No I didn’t. I was hoping you would check something for me before we go to lunch though,” Lana said.
“Okay, my Google is your Google. What do you need?”
“I offered to get involved in this halfway house that LuthorCorp supports but Lex won’t let me anywhere near it. He says it’s not safe.”
“Well most halfway houses aren’t.”
“I know but lately Lex has been secretly maybe I’m reading into it too much but I was just wondering...”
“If I could find out if there was a deeper meaning to it than that.” Chloe replied with a nod, “I think I can do that. Just give me a few minutes.”
Sitting down at her computer and clicking onto the Google page she glanced over at Lana. Seeing her start to sway Chloe moved from her seat to go and steady her friend just as she fainted to the ground.
Kneeling next her she grabbed her shoulder and asked, “Are you all right? Lana.”
Opening her eyes and blinking a few times Lana groaned before saying, “What happened?”
“Well, from where I was sitting it looked like you fainted. Let’s get you to a doctor.” Chloe replied, pulling her up gently.
Lana shook her head, “No it’s okay. Can we keep my little siesta between us? I really wouldn’t want anyone to worry.”
“Well it’s a little late for that but ok. I can do that,” Chloe replied, “Now how about lunch. Maybe that will help.”
Watching as Lana nodded she pulled her up off the floor before grabbing her purse and leaving with her. It sucked, as far as she was concerned. Now she had two people she cared about to be worrying about.
************
Walking into Oliver’s apartment Chloe moved carefully. The lights weren’t on and some of the books from his bookcase were on the floor. Grabbing a statue from the shelf she moved into the lounge room. Seeing Oliver decked out completely in his Green Arrow gear as he watched the video on the screen she stood quietly and watched as he turned and opened the desk draw, pulling out a few vials filled with a purple liquid, pocketing them quickly before turning back to the screen. Dropping the statue she moved further into the room.
“What’s going on Oliver?” she asked watching as his back became tense at the sound of her voice.
“Nothing,” he replied, not turning to face her.
Walking towards him she placed a hand on his shoulder and said, “Look I know we talked about breaking up the other day but that doesn’t mean I don’t care about you Ollie. Talk to me, what’s going on?”
“It’s nothing,” Oliver said as he grabbed he’s glasses, “Are you ready?”
“Yeah, just as soon as you tell me what’s in that vial?”
“It’s a healing serum.”
“So you were shot last night?” Chloe whispered.
“Yes and the serum healed me.”
“Oh god,” Chloe replied, placing her head in her hands.
“Chloe...” Oliver whispered.
“Ok, we’ll talk about this when that thug is off the street,” she said as she went and grabbed to coms, “Stay in contact ok?”
“Anything for you.”
*************
Watching as the thug that shot him last night climbed out of the window of the rooftop Oliver smiled and jumped onto it, landing lightly. Waiting for the man to turn around his smile grew as the thug took a half step back when he saw him obviously startled Oliver took a step towards him.
“I’ll take that,” he said, motioning to the bag in the thugs’ hand.
“I put a bullet in your chest,” the thug replied, still shocked.
“And now you’re going to pay for it,” Oliver said. Reaching out a hand as the thug tried to get away he pulled him back towards him causing him to trip and land on the ground in front of him. Pulling out his crossbow Oliver pointed it at the thug ready to pull the trigger just as the thug jumped up.
“I don’t think so,” he growled, running for the edge and diving off it. Gasping in surprise Oliver looked over the edge to see the thug slowly rising from the ground, as if his body was pulling itself back together.
Heading down the fire escape Oliver clicked his com and said, “Did you see that?”
“Yep, it’s the beautiful thing about the camera I installed.” Chloe replied, “I can see everything you’re doing.”
“Yeah well I’m going to find out how he did that,” Oliver replied, reaching the ground as the thug stood up straight. Grabbing his jacket Oliver picked up the thug and shoved him against the fence, “How did you survive that fall?”
“Yoga,” the thug sneered, “Now let go of me!”
Laughing Oliver replied, “You may be able to heal but that doesn’t mean you don’t feel pain,” before pulling back he’s fist and ramming it into he’s stomach.
Watching as the thug coughed he was surprised when he still argued saying, “Let go!”
“Start talking,” Oliver growled, “I can do this all night.”
“There’s this doctor who comes to the halfway house. We get these shots they saw are vitamins. Some kind of vitamin huh?”
“What’s the doctor’s name?!” Oliver demanded.
“How am I supposed to know?”
“Then what does he look like?”
“It’s not a he. She’s a chick.” The thug replied.
Letting go of the thug Oliver watched as he ran out of the alleyway, not looking back once. Clicking his ear piece he said to Chloe, “Can you check and see if a Doctor Pamela Black is working for anyone other than me?”
“Is she the one who made that healing serum you have? Chloe asked as she started to look into the doctor.
“Yes, I put her on my payroll a couple of weeks ago.”
“Ok well there is nothing out of the ordinary....well expect.... that.” Chloe replied.
“What is it?”
“She’s not only getting a pay check from you but she’s also getting one from Lex.”
Growling Oliver switched off his com and headed for his bike. He had a date with the devil.
*************
Watching as Lex moved down the hallway Oliver rested on the ceiling waiting for the perfect moment. He couldn’t make this happen while the body guard was around and since it didn’t look like he was planning to leave he would have to resort to plan T, for tasor that was. Loading the arrow he waited for the right moment before firing as he swung down to the ground.
Seeing the guard fall to the ground he loaded the bow again before saying, “Sorry Luthor. Work’s not over yet.”
Motioning to the office he guided Lex back inside, keeping the arrow trained on him as Lex took his seat. Pulling out the agreement he had drawn up a year ago, knowing the man that Lex was, in case there was ever a need to use it Oliver dropped it onto the desk for him before starting to back away to the other side.
“What is this?” Lex asked.
Tossing him a pen Oliver replied, “Sign the dotted line. All your assets will be divided among the fifty global charities listed below.”
“Tell me, what have I done to deserve this?” Lex asked.
Oliver chuckled, “After your lofty support of the Second Chance Halfway House, I think it’s a natural step. I had my side kick look into it and it looks like your test a drug on some patients in there with Doctor Black.”
“She was on Oliver Queen’s payroll first. Does this mean you’re going to go after him next?” Lex asked before leaning forward, “Cause I would support that.”
“Oliver Queen is trying to better society. He’s only fault in this is that he felt like he could trust Doctor Black. Now sign it.”
Watching as Lex started to shake the pen he was given Oliver raised the bow a little higher just as Lex dropped the pen. “What the hell are you doing?” he asked.
“It’s out of ink,” Lex replied as he reached under the desk and pulled out a gun, pointing it directly at Oliver’s chest. “Drop it!” he demanded.
“You first,” Oliver replied with a smirk.
“Which do you think is faster? An arrow or a bullet?” Lex asked.
Oliver shrugged, “There’s only one way to find out.”
Squeezing the trigger Oliver felt the bullet ram into his chest as he saw the arrow embed itself into Lex’s chest. Stumbling backwards Oliver felt his legs fallout from under him as it felt like the ground raced up to meet him. Hearing a gasp he turned his head slightly and swore he saw Chloe. Convinced it was an illusion he reached into his pocket to pull out a vile of serum so he could go home and be with her.
Chloe ran to where Oliver had fallen and took the serum out of his hand. Holding onto it she grabbed onto his face and turned him to look at her, “Ollie,” she whispered, “What happened?”
“Chloe,” Oliver replied, “Need serum so I can be with you.”
“I’m right here,” Chloe replied, “What is going on with you? Why does it look like Lex is dead?”
“Because he is,” Oliver whispered, “I shoot him... in the chest.”
“Oh God.”
“Chloe... the serum... I’m going die without it....”Oliver gasped, “And I can’t leave you... I love you too much... to do that.”
“Ok,” Chloe replied, taking the serum and injecting it into his arm.
Watching as Oliver gasped she moved back as he sat up right as the wound in his chest started to heal. Running her hand over it in fascination she took a deep breath before looking into his eyes.
“You’re here,” he whispered before pulling her lips to he’s. Kissing him gently she tangled her tongue with he’s until she was almost out of breath. Pulling away she stood up and walked over to Lex just as she felt a gust of wind go through the room. Turning she saw that Clark had decided to join them. Kneeling in front of Lex she checked for his pulse as the boys behind her argued.
“Oliver! What have you done?” Clark demanded.
“He pulled a gun Clark, I had no choice.” Oliver cried as he struggled to he’s feet.
“He’s dead,” Chloe whispered, turning to face both the boys, “Ollie, do you have any more of that serum left.”
Oliver shook he’s head, “No and even if I did I don’t think we should use it, nature has taken its course.”
“Oliver you’re not a murderer,” Chloe whispered standing, “This isn’t who you are. It’s the drug, isn’t it?”
“That drug is best thing that ever happened to me apart from you Chloe. I’m not bulletproof. Any night could be my last night as the Green Arrow, as Oliver Queen. If I need a drug to ensure that I can come home to you every night Chloe, I’m going to keep taking it.”
“Oliver, part of the reason I love you is because you go and protect people every night even though you might come back. This man in front of me, I don’t love him.” Chloe whispered, “I don’t love the person who is able to murder another person.”
Noticing the briefcase to the side Clark pulled it open, “There’s more serum in here.”
Chloe sighed in relief, “Good. Take Oliver back to the penthouse.” She continued as she pulled the arrow from Lex’s chest, “Then come back and get me. I’ll inject the serum when you get back.”
Nodding Clark swept Oliver away before he could protest. Turning back to Lex she lined the serum up and got ready to inject it into Lex. When she felt the gush of wind she pressed the needle into his skin and realised the serum before grabbing the brief case with the rest of them and telling Clark to take her back to the Talon.
************
Stepping off the elevator Clark felt the difference straight away in the atmosphere. Looking around he was glad there was so much light coming into the room. It gave the place a different feel than what it was like the other day. Walking into the room he looked over at Oliver, his head down and working, and he couldn’t help but feel like there was a light lifted off he’s friend too.
“So who am I dealing with today, Jekyll or Hyde?”
Oliver laughed, leaning back in the chair to look at him, “Just plain old Oliver today Clark.”
“I’m guessing I should take you not breaking any glasses as a good sign.”
Oliver nodded, “Yes you should.”
“What made you come to your sense?”
“You and Chloe actually. The whole time I just wanted be like you, have the ability to bring justice to the world without having to worry about being killed in the process. But having Chloe say that she loves me under those circumstances, it wasn’t right and that’s not the hero I want to be.”
“You do a lot of good for this world Oliver and you don’t need to be indestructible to be a hero, you already are one.”
“Yeah, I know, you’re right. I should thankful for who I am, right, and the abilities I have. I know that now.”
“I am too, now let’s go. You can’t be alone on Thanksgiving. There’s a bird waiting for us.”
Chuckling Oliver shook his head, “Thanks Clark. I really appreciate the offer but I shouldn’t. Chloe is going be there and after these past few weeks I only see one way we’re going to make it and convincing her of that at Thanksgiving dinner, there might not be enough time.”
“Try, Oliver. If you really love her and she loves you then there’s no reason why this can’t work. So come and let her decided how much you really mean to her.”
Oliver nodded, “Ok.”
*************
Fiddling with her table decoration Chloe sighed. She couldn’t get the thought that Oliver had almost died out of her head. He had almost died and she had realised that she did love him. She couldn’t believe she had said it out loud but she had meant it. Though she wasn’t sure whether he had meant it when he had said it. She knew he probably did but after years of unrequited love it left her unsure of what it meant.
A knock at the door dragged her from her thoughts. Moving to open it she smiled when she saw Lana on the other side, “Hey! Are you feeling better?”
“I’m hanging in there,” Lana replied as she entered the apartment.
Closing the door Chloe turned to her, “So make yourself comfortable and I’ll tell you what I found out.”
“Chloe, I’m not here to talk about the halfway house,” Lana replied.
“Ok but I think there’s some stuff you need to know.”
“I don’t want to hear it ok.”
“What’s going on Lana?” Chloe asked confused, “What happened? You know you can tell me anything.”
“Chloe... I’m pregnant.”
***********
Walking into the kitchen Chloe smiled as she watched Lois and Clark argue over the pie that Lois had made. It was nice to be here, it felt like she was coming home. After everything that had happened between here and Oliver she was happy to be around something familiar and normal and there was nothing more normal than Thanksgiving at the Kent farm. Hearing the doorbell she waited for Clark to leave to go and get it.
“I think that’s for you,” Clark said with a smile.
Turning she headed for the door with a shake of her head. Peering out through the side window she saw why Clark had sent her. Pulling it open she smiled, “Hi.”
“Hey,” Oliver whispered, “Is it ok that I’m here?”
Nodding Chloe smiled, “It’s more than ok.”
“Good. I was hoping that we could take a walk before dinner.”
Turning back to the kitchen she saw that her cousin had more than occupied Clark’s attention for the time being. Nodding she stepped out of the house and onto the porch, taking the hand that he offered and letting him lead her away. Standing under the tree by the Kent barn she waited for him to make the first move.
“Chloe, I meant what I said when I was dying. I only wished that I could have told you under better circumstances.”
Chloe sighed, “I didn’t even realise that was how I felt. I suspected but until I saw you lying there, dying, I didn’t know for sure.”
Taking her hands in his he said, “I swear I meant it and when the time is right I’ll say those words again but for now I think we need to fix our relationship.”
“I agree, so what do you suggest? ‘Cause I’m pretty sure that breaking up needs to be off the table.”
“I know and I have an idea,” Oliver replied, “A problem arose in Star City, from both the work and play aspect of my life, and I need to go home for a couple of weeks. I was thinking that maybe you would want to come with me. You could help me out with the play problem and we could spend our down time talking, full disclosure, and exploring Star City.”
“You want to show me your home town?”
“Yeah, that’s if you want to come.”
“It can’t do any harm and I could use a vacation.”
“So Monday we’ll leave for Star City...”
“And full disclosure,” Chloe replied.
“And full disclosure,” Oliver agreed, moving forward and placing a light kiss on her lips just as Clark called them in for dinner, “He has the worst timing ever.”
Laughing Chloe grabbed he’s hand and pulled him toward the house. It looked like her Thanksgiving was looking up and that was something that she was thankful for.
I’m going to say it one more time: Pretty please comment, I think I’m doing something wrong and I don’t know what it is so tell me. Please.
Chapter 15
