Gathering her dress, her bag, coat and necklace she moved upstairs (without a piggy back ride) and deposited her gifts in their bedroom. Stripping down naked, she put on the necklace that he bought her, just the diamonds against he pale skin, now golden and brown under the soft candle light everywhere ( Read more... )

Candlelight has a way of making everything visually dramatic. The light itself is like a living thing, the way it moves through out the room. Everything is saturated by warm amber tones, except the shadows, which somehow seem darker than they would otherwise.

The scars he's collected over his abnormally long life are highlighted by the light, along with the muscle he's gradually losing to age. Getting old is a bitter pill for a proud man to swallow and though he's able to put it from his mind most of the time, it's at the forefront of his thoughts every time he undresses.

Justin lowers himself carefully into the running water. His eyes close and he takes a moment just to breathe. Trying to clear his mind of the noise.

Folding up his clothes she tosses each article into either a dry cleaning basket or wash. Dry cleaning goes with her, the wash goes downstairs and is somehow magically washed and folded by someone other then her. Secretly Jane thinks its one of the best things about living with Justin, not having to do laundry.

Stepping into the bathroom and leaning against the doorway she watches him sink into the soapy water with a smile. The proud man might view his body with some disdain over the ravages of time but Jane can't keep her eyes off of him. He's handsome and interesting and for the moment, all hers.

Her own hand moves over her stomach and she wonders idly as she moves toward the bath how he would view her the older she gets. Stepping into the water she slowly sinks to sitting before picking up the wash cloth and moving it over his leg gently.

He knows she's close by.

He can hear the soles of her feet hitting the tiled floor. He can feel the water shifting around him while she joins him in the tub. And yet ...

And yet he's still surprised when he feels the wash cloth on his legs. It brings his mind back to the here and now. Makes his eyes snap open.

He glances at her as if he's studying her and after a moment he breaks the silence. "You're quiet tonight."

"I am," she agrees, watching the bubbles and moving the cloth over his thigh under the water as she moves closer to him. "I guess I just don't have much to say. Plus, the silence is nice." She's not angry or sad, just, is, and maybe it's the time of the year or the prominence of the candles but silence seems appropriate.

Lifting her hand she slowly begins to wash off his chest with slow, easy motions of the wash cloth.

He mostly feels her clothed hand gliding over his chest, but certain patches of skin - the especially calloused parts and some of the thicker scars - scarcely feels any sensation at all.

"So long as you're sure nothing is wrong."

Over his shoulders and collar she slides the warm cloth down his other arm before turning and putting her back up against his chest. She still rubs his arms and hands as she snuggles against him.

"I'm hungry but other then that I am wonderful."

"You always say you're hungry and then when we sit down to eat, you hardly eat anything."

His face remains neutral, but you can hear a smile in the words. His voice, the source of a great deal of his power, seems to come not from his throat but from his chest. She can feel the words as much as hear them with her back pressed against him the way it is.

"It's all relative, a lot for me doesn't necessarily mean a lot for you."

He might not be smiling but she is knowing that her eating habits have been a long standing joke between them. Picking up his arms she wraps them around herself as she rests her head back against his shoulder. "I could eat a horse."

"Not a horse. Maybe a toy pony."

And with that, he can't help but crack a little smile, which he more or less conceals by pressing a kiss into the top of her head.

Laughing she shakes her head slightly and stretches a leg out against the opposite side of the tub. "No, no, really, this time I am going to do it. I am going to eat the wholeeee thing."

"I'll believe it when I see it." He rumbles gently. "Should we make this a quick bath, then? I don't want you to starve, Rabbit."

Turning around in his arms she tilts her head up and finds his mouth with her own. "Not too quick, huh? I think I can wait a little while longer for my horse."

"Alright."

After breaking off the kiss, Justin searched for the wash cloth. Eventually finding it floating in the water by his legs. He lathered the cloth with soap and proceeded to wash Jane, starting with the arms.

"You know, when I mean a slow bath I meant sex right?" But she's grinning and certainly not complaining at the washing, the slow motion of the cloth over her arms.

Her own fingers move over his chest, over those scars some thick some thin, the ones that remind him of his slow approaching mortality.

"Oh is that what you meant?" The words tumbled out of his lips casually, but his brow knotted up when she started to trace over the scars. At that moment, the cloth strategically moved down her arms and to her hands, which gave him an excuse to pry her fingers away.

His hands covering hers forced her to look up into his face and she frowned slightly. "You know I've seen every part of you and love everything I see, don't you?"
