Fandom update
Just started watching a series called "Storm Hawks". 3D-cel-shaded animation that sometimes works, sometimes doesn't, and the script's a bit clumsy (but so is Avatar's, especially at the start) but it's funny and good enough that I want to keep watching. ^_^
The third Avatar game came out recently, and the DS version is actually really good! Very Phantom Hourglass-ish - chibi style, stylus-controlled puzzle adventure; much more fun than the previous two games (average action-adventure stuff), and a few of the puzzles had me stumped for a little while. Oh, and there's a boss battle that turns out to be a giant game of Pong, which would have made me laugh out loud if I wasn't trying to play it on the tram.
Also been playing the new Pokémon Ranger game. The battle system is improved but the game itself is getting off to a much slower start, at least compared to what I remember the first game being like. Instead of leaping into the role, you spend the first hour or two in "ranger school" making friends with a couple of NPCs who promptly get sent off to a different region. Only just got past that bit and into the game proper, so no idea if/when we see them again.
On the annoying side, I'm noticing that the touchscreen on my DS is definitely starting to not work in some spots. I've suspected it before while playing music games - though chalking it up to "must have just missed the right spot" - but it's more obvious when you're trying to draw a line and it keeps breaking off halfway. X_x
...wonder how much it costs to get fixed?
