words I never thought I would hear from my mother's mouth: "the other night, I was watching 'Pimp My Ride' on MTV..." WHAT IS THAT? Why was my MOTHER watching that show? And it wasn't like she only saw part of it. Apparently she watched the whole thing. Very strange.
So this weekend is "Slammin Jammin" in my little town. For those of you who don't know what that is, it's a huge car show where people come from all over the country to show off their rides. I think that they said they're expecting at least 12,000 people this year. it's so crazy. people just drive up and down the main street, and others sit on the side of the road like they're watching a parade or something. Forget driving anywhere in any reasonable amount of time. Girls are running around flashing people, trying to get beads like it's Mardi Gras or something. I just hope it dies down by tomorrow night.
