Huge Peanut Butter Recall - Salmonella

I only just heard about this. Pass it on...

The peanut butter recall started with Peanut Corporation of America at one plant in Blakely, GA. ...they issued a press release and recalled a modest number of products. Nobody seems to mention the real most likely culprit. Workers who pick the peanuts (spinach, tomatoes, or other ground-grown produce) often choose to relieve themselves in the crops rather than walk to the toilet facilities or port-a-potty. If one's even available, it can be a half mile away, if their supervisor allows them to take a break, and the workers get paid by piecework.

I picked strawberries for two summers and saw this all the time.

Fast Food Nation talks about our creating a streamlined food system which is just great at spreading pathogens incredibly far and wide.
The first few headlines had me concerned, but in this case, I'm a Jarhead :).

I think one could do the benefit for the Orphanage, there'd just have to be honor guards to make sure the seal on the jars were untampered with and all the "Reeses"® cups would have to be made on site, like pies. I've seen pictures of judges at pie fairs, don't they wear honor guard sashes?
