People often say how great it is to get home again to your own bed. It is. But what it is REALLY great to get home to is REAL COFFEE, especially after 9 days of instant except that on the planes. When airline coffee is the best you've had for 9 days, you know it's bad!
Have you seen the "Pollination" postage stamps yet? They are GORGEOUS! There are 4 stamps, and the 4 together form a picture, but then they put the same stamps into a different formation and it too forms a picture.
I seem to have inherited my daughter's ball python. He is large now. He eats very sporadically, and it is impossible to know when he is hungry. He is not very bright, and we can't feed him live rodents, because the rodents would kill him. So we use frozen, which we have to thaw and then warm up and dangle as though it's alive. Well, the snake rejected the rats three times over the last few months, and has shed twice since he last ate. He started becoming active and trying to escape about a month ago, which I took as being hungry and looking for food. But the local PetCo, our only source for frozen rodents, lost its freezer and didn't have any rats for over a month. I was very worried about being gone last week that without having gotten food, the snake would escape while I was gone. I was relieved to return to find he was still in his home, and more relieved that PetCo finally had rats, so I made a special trip across town yesterday to get one. He wasted it!! It's probably been 6 months since he ate! I hate wasting the rats. I don't think my daughter wants the snake any more, but a 6-foot snake is hard to find a good home for.
Chicago area people - if I/we come visit, when are good and bad times to see you? I'm trying to set up a trip there with my daughter, if she's willing. (She's been rather cold to the idea when I mention it though.)
