What is your favorite retreat from the world?
There is a place where no one makes fun of my accent.
There is a place where no one cares how much candy I eat, or how very much I would like to give the attractive girl behind the counter at Fatso Burger a foot rub.
There is a place where no one can feel awkward about how many times a day I choose to... enjoy myself by myself.
Yes, I have a retreat from the world. It is the place where I go to be alone and think about all the very many things I have learned during the day. Often, I think about new words that I have picked up from my friends: "groovy"... "camel toe" (I very much like that one)... "purple nurple" (I very much do not like that one, thank you not at all, Hyde!)
Most of the time, I think about my friends and how very lucky I am to have them, and to be in such a wonderful place as Point Place, Wisconsin.
And every time, I go there to see the things of which a young, healthy man such as myself, from a country like mine can only dream.
And although it is dark and small, my place is cool and comforting to me.
But please, do not tell Donna how often I am hiding in her closet.
