I've looked at my work schedule and I unfortunately won't be able to make it to your party on Saturday. I'm really sorry! :(

I love my new job, but one of its downsides is that I sometimes have to work evening or night shifts and I sometimes don't get the weekends off. This week, for example, I'm off Wednesday (today), Thursday and Friday. But I swear I'll find a way to attend one your parties someday!

And just because I can't make it on the 25th doesn't mean we can't make plans to meet up soon! I would love to see you in the next few weeks. We could:

1. go out to dinner;
2. catch a movie;
3. go somewhere to grab a drink or a coffee/tea and chat;
4. meet up at yours or mine (I would love to see your new place!), order food and watch all the cool old/new shows we've downloaded/bought recently (you always make me discover the coolest shows!);
5. do some or all of the above or any other thing you can think of!
