geek/dork/nerd

I was selected on jeremiah's list of the 5 biggest dorks he knows. So this means that I need to list and explain 5 things that make me a dork.

I don't particularly think of myself as a dork/nerd, although I know I am one. I don't think I act like a dork all the time, just sometimes. I'm not even quite sure what dork means. I'm just going to write some reasons down that seem nerdy/dork-like. Here we go:

1.In hs, I was on a lot of the academic teams. Quiz bowl, academic superbowl (english and fine arts), knowledge masters. I was the captain of the english superbowl team and I was really excited about it in general. So much so that I designed a team hoodie, which was eventually changed so that everybody in academic superbowls could get one( if they wanted one).I wanted to create some sort of solidarity and pride amongst everyone.
I think that is sort of nerdy. Come on, it's called "academic superbowl-" I don't think it can get more nerdy than that.

2. Recently I thought of having my facebook picture be of me with lab safety goggles on. Upon later analysis, this would have been devastatingly nerdy. I might have even become an outcast amongst nerds.
And while we are on the topic of facebook I'll share that I made the "i heart my mom" facebook group. I also contributed to the "mathletes" facebook group. this sort of thing is nerdy but in a super-awesome way. I'm not ashamed in the least.

3. i have often not gone out with people because I wanted to study. I guess a lot of people do this. I have been known to study on Friday nights though. I remember once staying at the library on a Friday until it closed. That's pretty nerdy and might be seen as sad. I say it's productivity and I'm learning things I need to know. I think number 3 here basically says that I'm a super-dork and I do not think I need to have another 2 for the list.
