So, worked everything out with A. (I was way, waaay overreacting) and ended up having an adventure day yesterday, ending with our minds being blown away by two films. Of which I highly recommend to anyone who has an open mind and is willing to actually give Canadian cinema a chance.
The first is 'Primer'--- well acted film about time travel costing about $7000. But my god, it doesn't show it at all. The film received the Alfred P. Sloan award at the 2004 Sundance film festival as well as the Grand Jury Award. I won't go and mention all the other acclaims, it would get too long. But Seriously, go watch it. NOW!
The other films is a documentary mixed with acted scenes to aid the story. It is so well done and not at all boring and traditional. The title alone brings me great joy: “What the Bleep do we know!?” what would be a better film than a fable about quantum mechanics, physics and crazy talk, all wrapped in seriously sweet special effects!
As well, I’m in the process of reading Descartes’ “Meditations on First Philosophy”…
why am I doing this to myself, you may ask. I don’t know, I answer. It just do it anyway.
