I said to myself that I needed to get over this dislike I have for the Oscars in general since Pan's Labyrinth got jipped. I had to get over it, let it go. Move on. So I decided to start watching some of the contenders this year. This week I needed to play a bit of catch up and I saw both True Grit & The King's Speech.

I saw True Grit about 3 weeks ago and was blown away. Hailee Steinfeld BLEW me away! I think she should be nominated in Lead Actress and not Supporting. I can't wait to see what other roles that she will choose. She's one to watch that's for sure. I loved the rest of the cast as well. Matt Damon was perfect and Jeff Bridges can't give a bad performance. I would have liked a little more screen time for Josh Brolin, but he was perfection. I don't like Westerns, and I really don't like drama's. I'm a kid at heart. I like romantic comedies, action/super hero movies and animated movies. The darker parts of True Grit where not my cup of tea. They were there for a reason but it wasn't my thing. Even with those less then pleasant scenes I thought this was a fantastic movie!

I'm dying to see The King's Speech! DYING! Colin Firth is just fantastic in everything, as is Helena. I can't wait to see it. :)

You're right. Jeff Bridges cannot give a bad performance even if he tried. I also wanted more Josh Brolin, but then again I always want more Josh Broling, what's not to love? lol

You're probably right, Bale has the Supporting Actor award in the bag but I think Rush will give him a run for his money.
