Summary: It was as though they were two halves of the same, whole creature. One that should never be torn apart.
Why shouldn’t she love him? She knew she could not be the first to notice the many things that made him desirable. The way his eyes looked in the sunlight. The way his voice sounded when he spoke to her, only to her. The way his skin smelt when they were close.
The other girls around the castle looked at him and Isabella felt herself filled her with anger, spiteful pride. Anger because they shouldn’t be looking at what was hers, but she could do nothing to stop them. Pride, because, without them knowing, Isabella already had what they could only dream of.
She’s not stupid enough to mention it, but Isabella knows Marian had seen this side of Guy too. She just hadn't known how to control it. Isabella does. She's known the man for her entire life, after all.
When they were pressed together, breathing in synch, black hair mingling on the pillow, it was as though they were two halves of the same, whole, creature. One that should never be torn apart.
So Isabella just smiled her secret to herself, and closed her ears to the thousand pathetic, bleating voices which all echoed the same two words. It’s wrong, it’s wrong.
