Summary: There is a moment when everything changes.
It was, at first, a perfect match. He was young, handsome, with an air of future success, of potential. She was very young, beautiful and attracted to men of power.
But the years passed, and her womb bore no fruit. Her affection for him turned to pain and grief. Every night, it was mirrored back at her, but only as cruelty and hatred.
Now, as her unerring knife finds its hated target, she sees a flash of her long-felt grief in his eyes. It flickers for a moment and goes out. Triumph floods her mind and washes all her pain away.
