I am seriously in awe!!!

On a high!  I pretty much just came home from seeing Phantom's 25th Anniversary Performance.  It was way more than I was expecting.  I don't know if I'll see it in theaters again, but...  DVD come out already!!!  Seriously...

I was expecting nothing more than, like Les Mis...  People standing in their costumes in front of microphones and...  I accepted that.  At the same time...  It's POTO!  Part of its appeal is the grandeur!  How can they translate that into a concert?  Did they advertise it as a concert or was it me?  Because it was NOT a concert!  It was a modified (pretty much?) full performance!  My God...  I mean...  Yeah, it doesn't have the full grandeur, the scenery of the play, but it was sufficient enough and as I said, more than I was expecting.  I have nothing bad to say about the performances.  There were no Joni fangirls to ruin the experience this time around.

Sierra...  Wow...  I am a fan.  I saw her in some preview show with sparkyboy and...  As I said in my review I thought she started weak, but then she blew me away.  I never saw The Little Mermaid like I said...  But this time...  From start to finish.  Blown away.  Ramin.  I think he was wasted in a sense.  I mean out of the 2hr+ show he's on stage for 30 mins!  Raoul...  Sorry...  I'm #TeamRaoul.  Not exactly the hottest looking guy, but yeah...  Love him.

Might as well, once again, state my opinion of The Phantom.  I don't get his appeal.  Maybe...  Maybe not!  I was gonna say maybe the book version taints him for me.  But he's not exactly nice in the musical either!  He's crazy and murderous!  I personally think he's using Christine's daddy issues against her!  People say their love is a passionate love, her love with Raoul is childish, etc, etc.  Well she's a child!  Who gives a frak about passion if he's abusive!  OK, Raoul may not be the perfect guy either, a wimp etc, but he's not abusive.  And I don't see Christine loving Erik either...  Fraking banging her head against a wall while she's tied to a chair, begging Raoul to swear he'll protect her from the darkness...  Am I wrong?  Am I blocking things out to justify my side?  I always say...  I love Les Mis, it's complex, POTO is pure fluff.  Maybe it isn't...

Some complaints...  I've said it before...  Filmed / movie version of live productions irk me some times.  Maybe it's the huge screen, but a screen of a giant face isn't pretty all the time.  Lol, the flashlight.  You even hear the click!  And..  There are parts where I'd rather be focused on other things.  Like...  During Angel of Music / Little Lotte, I like to see the Ballet in the back.  Someone is singing and you don't know who it is cause they are focused on someone else, etc, etc.  I wish they'd show the orchestra more.  The crowd in my theater didn't seem...  Like they didn't clap after the performances like they did with Les Mis.  About the only time they clapped was when Andrew Lloyd Webber / the original cast came out / the encore singing.  They laughed at ALW and Sarah Brightman.  HAHAHA!!!

So it was over.  ALW came out to speak.  Sarah Brightman sang.  Maybe it was the mic...  Maybe it was her singing.  I have to admit, in recent years I didn't like the way she sang POTO songs.  This time...  Besides her volume I had no complaints.  She did rock out the end!  They then brought out former POTOs.  Completely surprised the whipped out Colm Wilkinson.  Michael Crawford didn't sing.  That was weird...

I texted moodysweetie about it.  She had no idea about it / was at a wedding.  I also emailed Aures about it.  She never saw it.  I think it plays a few more times before coming out on DVD.  As I said, I don't know if I'll see it again, but...  I have a feeling I'll watch the shite out of the DVD.  Can't wait!!!

Oh and I completely love that Meg was crying during Angel Of Music.  #TeamMeg!
