I dropped my make it yourself coffee mug... So I has to go shopping today. Grocery store. Coffee... At home I realized I had bought the stuff you have to put in a maker. Woops. Headed to Best Buy and bought some printer ink. Borders, at Roosevelt Field. No replacement tumbler. :( Off to my Borders. They had one left. Target for meds. They actually have 16 oz, do it yourself tumblers... Maybe next time I break it. That's what I don't like about it... I knew it would happen. Then it's not very effective in keeping it warm. I barely finish 8oz, so... I don't need the 16.
Other entertainment news.
Way behind on my shows. Like a week. I'm just "watching" last weeks Heroes. I thought I had recorded over it accidentally. But now I think it's Kyle XY. Oh well.
Uh... I bought Center Stage 2: Turn It Up. Not as good. It's like a mix of ballet and hip hop or whatever. But I get it... Like the first was life in an actually ballet academy, this is about someone trying out, but not making it and finding other alternatives. So she helps a guy find his fiyah... Then does a... Dirty Dancing, well not really and steps into his partner's place during an audition to show off his real partner. It had a guy who was in Dance Life, that JLo show on MTV... So I downloaded it. Ugh... It's so horrible. It's like the Hills of Dancing. I've never seen the Hills, but I've seen clips on The Soup and stuff and... It's like fake reality, with really bad acting. But... I'm on ep 5 of 6 now and... I guess I'm over it, or it's toned down, cause... It's OK, kinda. I still don't like it... In the sense that the dancing is too modern for my liking, but... Eh.
Oliver Twist on Masterpiece Theatre... I've read it. I kinda enjoyed it... Dickens could have toned down on the tangents, but... With that and all the versions I've seen... Why do I not remember what the hell happened??? But what the hell was that Harry Potter crap with the MT intro!?!
Obligatory clip of Davy Jones as the Artful Dodger.

Onto Les Mis!!!
So the main reason I went to DC was to see Les Mis with Andrew Call as Marius. The chairs were interesting... Actually I thought it as kinda funny... So in jail, instead of hammering rocks they raise and lower chairs? LOL!!! But
sparkyboy would have loved that opening... Shirtless buff guys. Long story short... I liked it. It was interesting to see a different interpretation of it, but at the same time... I missed the things I enjoy from the Bway version. For example after the students die and the barricade turns to clear the stage, you can see the guys coming back to life and exiting the barricades... Speaking of the barricades... Even when I liked the blood and squibs and all, it was less effective... Seeing it turn around and having Enjolras sprawled out. Then Wedding at the Feast... When the Tenardiess steals the dishes / drops them, the major domo striking up the band again. Uh... I like the transition between Everyday and The Wedding... How Valjean interrupts them, they pull apart, but then he reunites their hands and they walk off the back of the stage into the wedding. Haha... I've seen Les Mis way too many times, haven't I? Anyway, I do have some (or more...) complaints. Uh... Eponine. Ugh... Voice was horrible! And what's with her constantly smiling... It was freaky. Almost like she's crazy / totally in love. But then again, wasn't she? I mean, she's waking around half naked and not even realizing! LOL! And why was her dress already tattered??? Oh and the wigs were horrible! And this one guy's tape was showing.
Good things... Valjean and Javert were great. And it is me or did Javert give you Hugh Laurie vibes??? It was interesting he blew his brains out. Speaking of guns... I got a nose full of that stuff. Surprised I or people don't spontaneously sneeze after that.
Andrew... His voice was good, surprising, considering all I know him from is
Altar Boyz, really. Not as impressive as Carlos, though. He'd have to be my 4th favorite Marii. (Under Michael Ball, Adam Jacobs and Chris Diamantopoulos.) But it was cute... He was actually facing our section at the time. How he was all bashful and looking back at Cosette then smiling. Oh... I have to add, we were sitting on the extreme right. It's kinda like theater in the round. Lol at the guy crawling off stage after being dead. Mom said she liked being that close / the small theater. It's OK... I actually get distracted when I feel like the actor is looking at me. I'm fine being in the last row, mezzanine. I'm not picky as long as I'm in the center. Oh and completely surprised Kristen had never seen it. I got confused with her seeing Colm Wilkinson in POTO and not Les Mis.
Anyway, once again... Shows I've seen.
