A "real" entry

ARG!!!  Yesterday I did so good...  I woke at 6, did all my stuff.  I was done by like 10.  I tried to sleep early, but...  Today I wake up at freakin almost 11!  ARG!!!

Anyway...  So 39-mile-journey, AKA kumquatqueen is doing a Breast Walk thing.  Got an email from her.  So I thought I should write a story...

So I'm doing my medicine rotation at Kings County in Brooklyn...  Good, why am I bring that up again...  It's actually toward the end of my rotation.  Maybe like 2 weeks left, so that's good...  Anyway, we get this patient in.  God, I don't remember exactly...  Well she turned up on our service...  She was visited by her sister who lived in Texas and was so concerned / worried she was forced to seek medical attention.  Anyway, this woman...  Serious denial.  She didn't feel anything was wrong, other than it was becoming smelly.  She had breast cancer for a long time, I guess.  It was at a point where it had eaten through her breast and she literally had a hole in her chest, see right through to her lung.  It was Ploy's patient.  Her first on the rotation.  Dr. Reese does his thing.  He had examined her as well.  He's like did you hear a wheeze?  She's like no...  He's like did you put your stethoscope in the hole?  No.  God, this is turning into how psychotic Dr. Reese is...  He's like do it now!  Anyway, since she was in major denial, all she wanted done was to have it cleaned and to be discharged.  No need for treatment, I mean, she didn't have breast cancer or anything, right?  Honestly at that point maybe all they could do was palliative radiation.  She was young.  I think her oldest child was 16.  So Dr. Reese was concerned with them.  I don't know what happened exactly, but he was using shock to scare them into being tested young for breast cancer, to the point where the children were crying, even Ploy almost cried.  I was on call one night and there was talk about her coding.  As part of admission I guess you have to ask everyone about what happens if you code.  She wanted a fill code.  They were pushing her for a DNR.  Anyway, nothing ever happened.  I mean, she seemed pretty stable for a hole in her chest...  Anyway, we weren't allowed to start CPR cause they were concerned that any pressure on her chest would cause her ribs to crack and we'd get cut.  So...  Anyway, I think all we did do for her was clean her wound.  But she did agree to F/U in heme-onc.  Ploy said she came to visit once in a while.  That's nice.

Ok, moving on...

What's with Altarholics???  So Kyle Dean posted a message about stage dooring...  Someone's like I would have taken a pic with you if you came out.  Then another message...  How come Eric doesn’t come out anymore?  Geeze!  I hate it that they make it like their own personal forum.  If you have something bad to say, don't say it there!  And who cares about your stupid swans or The Office is new tonight!  I mean, yeah, I bash, but at least it's in my semi public journal!

Altar Boy vids are getting slim...  Stupid AEA...  Anyway, I saved most to my comp when I first see them, so...  I mean, I get performances recorded at the theater, but like stuff that was televised on TV, or recorded at a benefit...  Anyway, I rewatched a vid of Danny Calvert as Mark.  Man...  If he went back into the role, I'd kill to see him.  I think he's most original.  Then...  Zach Hanna sounds a lot like Tyler Maynard, like live, not like on the recording.

Haha...  Someone from Astoria, not from my cousins checked out my MySpace, do I pretend it was like...  Zach Hanna?  LOL!
