Sunday.
I'm up to my Sunday recap. And... I honestly just want to sleep.
Also, but first...
Aures told 7500centfish to save the date re their Mom's bday, but then heard nothing. I then brought it up when we were at Cornell because... It would mean 7500centfish would be home back to back to back weekends. And yeah... I wouldn't want to do that. Anyway, late last night Roscel texts fam chat about it and... Mom told me we're not going if 7500centfish's not coming. So I asked. Nope. I have plans, Mom said her sisters are coming, etc. I cannot drive / park in the city. The handicap parking is no help. I'm not gonna dump my mother on other people. Anyway, so Mom told me to tell them we could not go. In other news... Marna invited me on Sat for Dr. L's birthday. I again said I could not go. Said I could bring my Mom. She even invited my aunts. Mom says, "it's up to you." I legit said it would be rude to go there and not to Tita J's. But yeah... It would have been no either way.
So Sunday... As I said, I had asked the email chat that Tito Caesar made if there were any cool / interesting places to go to Mass. I was legit curious and it wasn't a ploy to get people to go to Mass. He mentioned the Sage chapel and Anabel Taylor Hall. 7500centfish later asked me why we didn't go to the Sage chapel, which... By pictures is more ornate. Because... I looked closer at the things Tito Caesar sent and they specifically said the Catholic Mass would be in the Anabel Taylor Chapel. Both it and the Sage chapel are non denominational (formerly Episcopalian) spaces of worship in the school. Even in the priest's homily he mentioned that after 50 years they were finally allowed to use the Sage chapel and... The school assigned them the time / chapel for this Sunday, which was outside of their norm. I heard someone behind me say they wish they would have a better space for the event. Like... I was getting the vibe they got the shaft. Anyway... So yeah. Tito C also said it was in walking distance. He seems to forget we have elderly people / people in wheelchairs. So we drove. They were refurbing the front so I wasn't sure how to get in. I did go into the formal chapel, but then was soon told it was moved upstairs into a bigger space. Once again a non denom room. Seemed like it was more a theater space, seating and stage. But they set up an altar. Lol. Mom genuflected entering the "pew". I was like, "There is no tabernacle..." On second thought I should have bowed to the altar. Bumped into the priest coming out of the elevator. I then went to find 7500centfish and I think he caught a glimpse at my Matt Maher shirt. I mean... I don't know if he recognized it as Matt Maher, but as the Our Father. It says "Father Let Your Kingdom Come" on it. Found 7500centfish in the lobby and showed her to the formal chapel, then the chapel for Mass. It eventually filled up to over capacity. I saw our parishioners sneak in after 8, but before Mass had started. As the room cleared out Mom wanted me to point them out. And... Even when I said they were talking to the priest she couldn't see. Anyway... Homily... Like I said, he mentioned they had been assigned the time / chapel for the Mass. But then... I never realized this class was the "Covid" class. Like they started school in the Fall of 2019, so in the next semester covid hit and things were messed up. He talked of how he saw these kids grow both as people and in the faith. How they orchestrated adoration and mid week Mass, praying the Hours, etc. Like I said, afterward we crashed the post Mass reception.
We then went to the bookstore. I got a hoodie. Have... College sweaters gotten cheaper? I was expecting something $100 plus, but it was only $40. I also got a "wine glass", like the ones without a stem? Mom got a mug. 7500centfish got other stuff. LOL! So when I went to pay the cashier was like... I forgot her exact words, but she asked if I had ID, so I said yes, she told me to swipe it through some thing that wasn't the CC machine. I took out my driver's license and she say, "No, school ID". Oh... "I'm not smart enough for this school." She then said same with her, half of the employees are students and she pretends to understand. HAHAHAH!!! I asked if the same thing happened to 7500centfish. No. Maybe I just give off a vibe? Lol. But then... Maybe I can still pass as an undergrad? Or a young post grad?
Oh yeah, I also commented when someone would say there are so many Asians... It's like Stony Brook, but smarter. HAHAHAHA!!!
After that we went to the Dairy Bar. Cornell made ice cream. It was OK. I had some dragon named ice cream. It was basically cookies and cream, but mint flavored. In addition I had some vanilla / caramel with brownie bits in it. Cheese curd. Took a pic with a cow. I forgot the name... But someone stole the male counterpart, Cal? The female was some feminized form of Cornell. Cornelia? On our way out we bumped into Summer and Zack so we watched them eat. We then went to meet Tito C and co at some waterfall for a impromptu "picnic" except all we had was snack foods. Mom then injected, but then didn't want to eat any of the snacks so 7500centfish had to go back into civilization and got KFC.
Pretty much after that we headed back to the dorm, waited for Tita Nette to pack up and left. I drove out of Cornell for a little over 2 hours. 7500centfish drove the rest of the way home. Arrived back home around 11ish?
Random note. In the Dairy Bar I wanted to fake rage. They had a tray of feminine products with a sign "Free. Take one." But they were all tampons. I wanted to leave a note asking where the pads are. AKA fake rage. But yeah, not all girls use tampons.
So I want to break for Monday? I pretty much have to write about going to Mass and BBQ... But yeah, I wasted too much energy on this entry already.
