I love my family beyond measure, but the fact that some of them are allergic to both my house and my pet actually makes my holiday prep rather painful. I think it would be less so if I did not have a 50 year old canister vacuum with a very stiff hose which does not navigate the small spaces of my home well. So far this evening, it's knocked things over, slammed into the back of my legs and run over my bare feet several times.
My knee is also less than pleased with the number of times I have gone up and down stairs today.
Off to bed, since I need to wake up early to sing mass, before coming home to get the bird in the oven and deal with the last of the cleaning.
Once everyone arrives, all will be well and I can enjoy a day of giving thanks. As rough as my life this past year has been, I will never stop being grateful for the people in it.
