Quiet weekends and random news

A lovely weekend of football and Junjo.

On Friday, tigerblak brought over the first ten episodes of Junjo Romantica, season two, and we had dinner. I just love that show although I'm disappointed that they've opted to not show any intimate scenes any more.

Saturday and Today were the AFC and NFC playoff games and we got four really great games. I'll be sad to see the football season end, but I have a feeling next week's championship games and the Super Bowl will be awesome this year.

Saturday was really chilly here so I cleaned out the fireplace and tried out a new product called Java Logs. They're fireplace logs made out of recycled coffee grounds of all things. They burn quite cleanly and for a long time. I'm going to enjoy using them this winter.

In random news, the CDC says that 1 in 200 children in this country are vegetarian and that the number may actually be higher than that among older children/teens. You think maybe now vegetarians could get a little love from the US restaurant industry? One can only hope.

The DC inaugural madness continues. I wish I could just leave town for the next ten days, but alas... I'm stocking up on groceries and supplies and trying to get all my errands run so that I can just hide in the house for the three days that are expected to be the worst.

In happier DC news, we have a new baby gorilla. *awwwww* So cute! They still haven't sexed the gorilla so there's no name yet, but such great news.

Best wishes to my flist for a happy, healthy upcoming week.
*hugs*
