Snow Day

Dec 05, 2007 13:59

We set some sort of silly record in DC today for number of times it has snowed consecutively on this date. I like stats as much as the next girl, but that one just seems silly. I think the weather guys are bored if they're looking up stuff like that.

In honor of the day, though, I took a pic from my office window to share with you. It doesn't look like much, it's pretty grey outside, but I thought some of you might enjoy the snow on the tree.

First Snow

In hindsight, I should have turned our lights on. At least that would have given some color to the edge of the pic. This is pretty too, in a black and white sort of way, I guess.

Music program went very well Sunday. Joshua Love, MCC's HIV/AIDS awareness coordinator was a guest speaker at church and gave a wonderful sermon. He seemed to really enjoy our music program as well, so it's all good. It was hard not to cry at times, especially when one of our members talked about the loss of her brother and how it had affected her personally. It's wonderful that the discovery of new drugs has helped so many people, but it's unfortunate that so many have allowed that to put HIV awareness on the back burner. We need a cure for this horrible disease. I pray it comes soon.

Back to work now. Had to cancel class today with all the slippery stuff challenging No.VA drivers, but we've rescheduled for Friday and Sensei has warned me to study the next two days. I think she has something evil planned for me. *cowers in linguistic fear*

Going to play hooky for a few minutes and catch up on journal before diving back into NMIC and other pesky chores. Still need to work on Christmas cards and finish up some craft projects. Some folks are going all out and some seem to have expressed a desire not to receive anything. I think I'm going to have to sort everyone out and make a list before I start so as not to forget and inadvertantly offend anyone. If I make an error, I apologize. The brain has been a bit scrambled for months now and while the acupuncture helps, the holidays don't.

*hugs flist*
Hope you are all happy, warm, safe, and dry wherever you are.
