Snowpup's most recently discovered talent is being able to find spiders-- on the ceiling, hanging from the ceiling, or crawling on the wall. His little puppy eyes are geared to movement, I suppose. This is one reason I don't like living in an old house-- I see at least one spider a week. I used to be afraid of them, now they're mostly angering

I'm jealous of the puppy.....would love to have one, but the brotherhood here is not of one mind about dogs (or cats)...so it would not work very well.
Good luck with the work.

I like spiders. I have a rule in the house, which I announced when we moved in and I periodically repeat for newcomers.
Anything other than spiders in the house get killed. Spiders in the house cannot spin webs where I can see them and must attempt to hide when seen. Webs will be removed. Spiders not attempting to hide will be evicted. Spiders landing on humans will be executed.
Works well for us. When we moved in there were a ton of mosquitoes around the house and tons of marks on the walls where the previous tenants had squished spiders and not cleaned them up - don't ask.
After we moved in and I told the spiders it was cool to stay if they followed the rules, the mosquitoes have all but disappeared. Every once in a while (twice a month, maybe) we have to evict a spider, but generally the follow the rules and eat the mosquitoes ^_^

hanging down and almost touching you would constitute the death penalty.
I think spiders look really cool, but I'm weird. Try setting rules for the spiders and announcing them, you know, out loud.
I'm strange, I know, but it really seems to work. If you're consistent with the repercussions of breaking the rules, they will follow the rule. Not unlike children ;)
Of course, I'm also the person who just asked the Faeries to give me back my make-up bag...
They did, btw :D
