Hehehehe, me too. My British friend turned to me, all wide eyed and innocent, and said, "Is that Timothy Dalton?" He's lucky I didn't snort my drink all over him.
Just look at it as an opportunity to educate someone about the awesomeness that is Jason. Not only do you get to (most likely) create a new Jason fan (I have yet to meet someone who does not like him) and you have an excuse to go on about him for however long it takes to convince them. X)
And then of course you'll have one more person to squee with! Added bonus.
I agree with you, but I can't imagine squeeing with my British friend (ermm...he'd appreciate the acting, but he'd rather squee about the woman from the Fiat commercial last night!). LOL!
