I watched bits and pieces (God, it was a busy night: Halloween Wars, The Walking Dead, and Mr. Isaacs), but what I saw I enjoyed. I was sure to DVR it so I can watch the whole thing at my lesiure.

I know she's a stock character, but I really like the smart-ass secretary. And yes, Brodie's daughter too.

Agreed that the stories weren't the greatest mysteries BBC has had to offer. But I certainly want to go to Edinburgh now. And I love Jason's performance. And I love his fatherly charm. And yes, a shirtless, tattooed Jason is an excellent Jason.

I very much enjoyed the bighearted, too noble Jackson Brodie with his assorted problems and his unique ways of solving the offbeat mysteries. Has Jason Isaacs ever turned in a poor performance? I've never seen one.

My one caveat is the actress they chose to play his ex-wife. She looks rather skanky, trashy to me and not at all the type of female I think Jackson Brodie would choose, in looks or personality. I imagine Jackson couldn't be easy to live with if he's always saving lame ducks, but to me that actress didn't fit the part at all. Especially with such a lovely, intelligent child as they have.
