Crabtree 1-1
It's an ISBI!
My first time posting an ISBI, too. It's been fun so I'm excited to put it here. It pales in comparison to some of the others I've read, but I've enjoyed it, at least. :)
So without further ado, let's get started!
Our founder's name is Dustin Crabtree. I created him just to try something out on a lot, but haven't played him at all. He's a knowledge sim (my favorite because they're easy to keep happy hehe). LTW is to become a Space Pirate.
Yeah, I'm aware that he looks a lot like Andy Mustard, and even has the same shirt. Sorry if this confuses anyone, or if I get the two mixed up occasionally.
Actually, I think that face template looks a lot like Hugo Weaving (yeah I'm a nerd, haha).
So um, I think I put him on a 6x5 lot. Oops. Eh, we'll roll with it, I guess.
On second thought...
Yeeeah, this is all I could buy. Let's try a smaller lot.
Still pretty meager, but MUCH better.
So. The first order of business is, of course...
... a trip downtown to go wife-hunting.
And to purchase a cell phone, of course.
Things are off to a pretty good start so far.
He does prefer redheads, but I'll take anything he likes.
"Say, sweet cheeks, what do you say to gettin' together with moi?"
Apparently she likes sleazy pick-up lines!
(By the way, I forgot that asking "Do you like what you see?" was against the ISBI rules until later in the game... so for now, pardon my ignorant infractions, if you don't mind.) :)
Dustin gets to work, laying it on thick, and she falls for it hard.
Ok, enough with the sleazeball act. Time to get down to some serious relationship building--talking about real estate.
Real estate is the way into every girl's heart, after all.
So after they had a good date, I sent him home to do some skilling. Then I decided to check up on the chick he was flirting with, since I later realized she was a playable.
She's also married. *facepalm*
Well, back to the drawing board...
Took him out again, to a different lot, where he promptly got lectured by Mrs. Crumplebottom.
"I'm sorry! I didn't know she was married!!!"
Prospective wife #1 (Blondie doesn't count cause she was married):
Andy disapproves.

Well, they've got one bolt, so we'll keep her in mind just in case.
So we do a "scope room" to find...

So I took him home after they got to know each other a bit. While he was there...

So I got Dustin freshened up some, and had him invite Ivy over.
I don't get this. Their relationship was near 100 during their date on the community lot, but it wouldn't even give me a "slow dance" option. Yet he greets her with a ROMANTIC kiss?!
Of course you know that the "kiss" interaction isn't even available yet...
Well we know she isn't shy!

Canceled the action just in time. I don't want any oops pregnancies yet. And that reminded me to adjust their clothing settings. I don't really like seeing nekkid sims.
It was rather slow-going with Ivy, so I sent her home and put Dustin to bed, and we'd try again the next day.
But Dustin wasn't tired enough to sleep past midnight. Lovely.
Dustin... seriously? How do you BURN ramen in the MICROWAVE?!
"I... forgot to add the water?"

Might as well look for a job while we're waiting for tomorrow to come around.
No such luck, so I decided to have him give financial consulting for a while. I picked fortune as a secondary for just that reason. ;)

"He did? I, uh, I mean, yeah, he did!"

We'll propose engagement tomorrow. For now, he's gonna earn some more cash and get some rest. :D

Had a want to get married, though. 'Kay then.
Autonomously trying for baby. Had me worried for a second, considering they were still pretty poor at this point, but it was unsuccessful, thank goodness.
Well she knows how to make a salad at least! I then decided to get a full size fridge so Dustin could put the leftovers away.
Apparently she's also playful.
AND employed!
I totally thought this was Dustin's carpool, too. I kept wondering why it wouldn't let me click the car to send him to work! Turned out he had this day off.
Keep forgetting to hire a maid. Though Ivy seems to enjoy cleaning stuff anyway.
Computer is broken, and I'm not in much of a hurry to fix it. Dustin's got his job, and this way Ivy can't keep him up all night by playing games.
Ivy is quite nocturnal. She's up all night and then crashes the minute she gets home. I can't wait to see what happens when she gets pregnant.
A screencap of a promotion for Dustin was supposed to go here, but it seems to be missing and I don't feel like hunting it down and uploading it to photobucket right now, LoL.
I decided to repair the computer after all, so I could make Dustin play a game to wake up Ivy. I didn't like her being nocturnal.
He needed some social interaction, anyway.
She loves the warm-up bar, too. I guess we won't have to worry about her getting fat, which is one of Dustin's turn-offs.
Huh, I guess Ivy was due for a promotion, too. It appears that her job is in the slacker career.
As much time as she spends earning body skill points, this surprises me.

I *think* I locked it to keep out a wolf that Dustin was playing with, but I don't quite recall now. Andrew Mustard also met a wolf, so it's a little fuzzy in my head.
He gave up after a couple hours and started birdwatching instead, while Ivy kept waiting for him on the bed.
"AAAUUUUUGHHH WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO FOR ENTERTAINMENT AROUND HERE?!?!"
Well, Ivy, maybe if you didn't spend so much time on that warm-up bar, you'd have had the sense to use the computer!
(I deleted it anyway, since that was about all she did and it was getting boring.)
She missed the carpool playing Sims 3. Her icon was still really orange-looking so I don't really blame her, LoL. Unfortunately for her, she didn't have any vacation days, so her employer isn't too happy about it.

(LoL and right after I typed that, I accidentally clicked on her icon and saw her motives. All were high except hunger, which was maybe a third full. She's definitely quite self-sufficient as far as that goes.)
And I've never noticed how sheer that top is. I can see her bra right through it!

Dustin's had two days off from work, so I've been avoiding boredom by skilling him like crazy. It fulfills his wants at least. I was hoping to have a little more money for when the baby comes, though, for furniture. :/

Dustin is off to work, and Ivy has the day off. I thought about hiring a nanny, but decided it was better to save their money. And I was curious to see how good of a parent Ivy was.

Ivy does what most sims I've had do: feeds the baby when he needs a new diaper. And then she just stood there, holding him, until Dustin got home. The good news is that he got promoted again.
K, we're hiring a nanny now. Ivy can't seem to figure out how to change a diaper, and I'm paranoid about social worker visits. D:
Funny chaos is a good thing. Sad chaos is not what I'm going for.
I just don't know how she does it!

Ok so, here's the deal. I'm actually almost done with Gen. 2 in college, so what I will probably do is post the next few updates here, but not to legacychallenge , in consideration of friends lists. So just keep checking back for more Crabtree updates. I might get more posted tonight, since my little one is in bed, but I'm not sure about that yet. (I really ought to be cleaning the kitchen, though, LoL...)
