Phase I

Do something for me. Take a moment and step outside. Close your eyes, take a deep breath, and inhale. Notice that smell in the air?

Autumn.

Yesterday morning I walked outside to go to work. For the first time since Spring, the weather was cooler than it was in my house. And for the rest of the day, it just felt like Fall. I can literally feel it in the air.

September is also, to me, Halloween Phase I. The Halloween pre-game. Marked primarily by stores putting out their Halloween merchandise, Spirit chain stores opening in the unoccupied zones of shopping complexes, and haunted attractions being built. Pumpkins also start appearing around this time, but you probably don't want to buy one yet. The Halloween faithful would be wise to start seriously thinking about their costume, if they haven't dreamt one up yet. Phase I is also a great time to start buying your classic horror DVDs and home decorations because they are most plentiful before October.

Strange, with the coming of Fall, I've been feeling a little odd. It's hard to describe - not ill, or tired, or even physically different. It's like. . . my legs have felt restless, and the only way I can seem to relieve it is by performing a roundhouse kick. Also. . . and I know it sounds hard to believe, but my facial hair seems to be growing at a rapid rate, and. . . orange.

More as it develops. I reckon.
