I loved this geeky recipe when I was a kid... so chewy...
Skywalker Scrunchies
From Luke Skywalker's Activity Book, published in 1979.
Page 7 - SKYWALKER SCRUNCHIES
These delicious crunchy cookies are Luke's favorite. You may want an adult to help you make them.
You will need :
o ½ cup (1 stick) butter or margarine, softened
o 2/3 cup sugar
o 1 egg
o 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
o 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
o 2 ½ cups corn flakes, lightly crushed (1 ½ cups crushed)
1. Preheat oven to 350 F.
2. Lightly grease 2 cookie sheets.
3. In a large bowl cream butter and sugar until well blended. Beat in egg and vanilla. Slowly add flour, mixing thoroughly.
4. Add crushed corn flakes and mix well.
5. Drop dough by level tablespoonfuls on greased cookie sheets about 3" apart.
6. Bake 12-15 minutes, or until golden-brown around edges and top springs back when lightly pressed with fingertip.
7. Remove to rack and cool completely.
Yield : 25 Cookies
When you taste them, you'll see why Luke loves these Scrunchies!
