For some weird reason, summers tended to be a little boring for Buffy. Well, boring in comparison. It was hard to have them be totally boresome when you had a boyfriend and friends and a Watcher who wanted you to step up the training and a mother who didn't seem to think you were around enough thanks to a boyfriend and friends and a Watcher. But during the school year it was like there was a new apocalypse happening every week, and during the summer things just slowed down.
So when boredom did creep up, it meant that Buffy was happily doing things like trying to organize the books at the Magic Box. Okay, not happily, but it was something to do. At least till she was finished, and emerged with a proud, "All done! What's next?"
Giles said goodbye to the customer he'd just been helping, then looked at Buffy in surprise. "You're done already?"
"Should I not be?" she wondered.
"No, no, I'm sure its fine," he said, but that didn't stop him from leaving the counter in order to move past her and check on her work. He emerged about ten seconds later with a Look on his face.
"I did something wrong," Buffy assumed.
"N- Y-" He paused, and set his lips. "I'm going to be here for a while. If anyone comes in and needs to be helped... call me."
Buffy sighed, and went up to the counter to see if there was maybe something to play with. Maybe being unbored wasn't such a good idea.
