I was bored on Thursday between office hours and discussion and I was wandering the halls of a building. I read this article that someone had posted on their door.
And it is totally true for about 99% of the students I know. And have to teach. Highlight: In the face of all evidence to the contrary, my students exhibit an unswerving confidence in their own abilities. They earnestly assure me that despite test scores in the single digits and an inability to answer questions posed by their teaching assistant, they really know the material: "It just doesn't show in my grades."
Also funny: there was a meth lab bust at an apartment in Davis and the guy chose to defend his meth lab with a bow and arrow. BOW AND ARROW. I do not think it was FTW, more like FTL, cause his ass got taken down. Damn local news being restricted to subscribers only, otherwise I'd share that article as well.
