Visited the local GameStop this weekend. I think it's been 6 months or so since my last time, and even that was just a brief meander the smell the air or sumtin. My bro mentioned Devil May Cry 4 to me recently, and I hadn't even realized there /was/ one, so I was feeling out of touch with gaming news. Woe is me.
Anyway, so I step into the shop, and am immediately confronted by The Man demanding to know my business there. I hate salesmen who do this, leaping on potential customers on sight, like sharks in a kiddie pool. Anyway, I quickly fed him a "nothing" line, finished walking through the door, and scanned the walls to get a feel for the merchandise. After noting that Playstation 3 was closest to the entry, but Playstation 2 was still on the wall (instead of occupying a bin, like the really old stuff), I gifted The Man with an actual game title. And felt my heart leap and stomach drop.
The last time I went looking for Shin Megami Tensei, I witnessed people scratching their heads in perplexity en masse. This time, The Man quickly asked "Which series are you looking for?" and then pulled out Persona 3 *drool* It was all shiny in its cellophane wrapper.
Point is, I'm still playing Digital Devil Saga I!
While sifting through the games on the wall, I found the Devil May Cry 4. Also saw a Valkyrie Profile 2 WTF?!?!
Anyway, I still don't have any of the new consoles. Playstation 2 is serving me well. But looking at the variety and sheer volume of my favorite type of games--story RPG--I'll be buying XBox 360 next. Playstation 3 just doesn't have it.
