I was in touch with my sister and tried to keep her informed all the time I was there - but she had school, and got a ticket for the end of the month, which was too late. She stopped responding two weeks ago so I have no idea what's going on. But she's done it before, and I'm still to fragile to beg for someone to write back, so I guess it's her move...
The good news is that I'm taking up wood sculpting. :) My dad kept on saying "Lipa" as if they had Lipa here - and they don't... He did some experimenting when he worked at an ethnographic museum in Poland. I'm taking first steps and it turns out it's redwood for beginners. :) And it also turns out that every wood sculptor is the same no matter where they live - California or Poland... I'm taking advice from the old school crowd in both places - turns out the sculpting community I joined has sculptors from the same museum dad used to work at ;) I really hope I don't suck!
