Final Fantasy Tactics is really rather addictive. I remembered it being so when I first played it, but then I got stuck in that one battle...well, I've learned to do some more leveling now that I picked it up again. Or perhaps not 'leveling', more like 'learning abilities'. I'm still in chapter 2 (I think I mentioned reaching it?) and Agrias just joined my party. I like Agrias, she's cool and really pretty. =D
The amount of special characters in the game is quite staggering. I'd hired a couple units before to get some variety in my troops, and after counting the number of special characters yet to join me, turns out I can't get any more new ones unless I want to dismiss someone... Well, all it means at this point is remembering to dismiss all those chocobos that keep hatching. It breaks my heart every time they 'look at me confused' or 'think I'm giving them a treat' or 'have nowhere else to go'. The same thing as with dismissing accidentally hired people in FFTA, I really hate it. Can't wait for my party roster to become full so I don't have to do it anymore. Why did they have to add that stupid system of monsters laying eggs and them hatching in my party? D:
Seems that A Crystalline Prophecy, the first of the Final Fantasy XI downloadable add-ons will become available on the 23rd. Judging by the screenshots it's going to turn out really interesting, and the new equips look pretty damn good. But what the heck is up with customizable stats on them? That's...certainly new. Not that I'm complaining. Now, please be making Nuevo Coselete equippable by both Red Mage and Paladin so I can get that one out of the three, it's certainly the best-looking one. Considered Royal Redingote for a while too, but if they're truly interchangeable I'm definitely going for Nuevo Coselete. Jenare is not entirely a mage type, I'd rather have him in pretty armor than a pretty robe.
Well, it's not like I could buy the add-on on the 23rd, or that it'd even be playable at that date. It'll be activated with the April version update (April version update seems to be pretty damn big, judging by everything we know about it already), and I'll likely buy it around then.
It's really annoying how they never ship FF11 merchandise to Finland. I wanted Tidal Talisman, but do they ship it here? No. I also want the one-time password thingie since it comes with an in-game item, but...how much bet they won't ship that to Finland either. .___.; And to add to that, when the harpsichord (..a piano collection CD in RL) came out, I was completely penniless and couldn't order it. I'm doomed to never be able to get any of the exclusive stuff (don't care about the RL merchandise, but the in-game items that accompany them..!). Even my attempt at getting the items from luring a friend into the game for a long enough time went heads up.
Dissidia? Right, there's that too. I haven't been doing much lately. Just very slowly getting Cloud up to level 85 and going through Shade Impulse 3 on him. Finished SI3 yesterday, now all that remains is getting seven more levels. Then I can repeat the process on Squall, and then I'll finally get to the good characters again...maybe that'll lure me to finish the game at least on one character, but I doubt it. I have a bad feeling that FFT will take secondary position, and FF11 get miraculously restored to the first position again. April update looks really interesting...
Heh, they shipped my copy of Crisis Core Ultimania today. While I'm itching to play it again and go for completion this time, I'm somehow doubting it'll happen anytime soon. Too distracted with other games. *points up*
Synapsi sure has some effective PR people. It's this EBM/industrial/gothic/etc event, some guy contacted me through last.fm and told me they're having a Synapsi soon again. With a personalized message and all, and it was apparent from his profile that he'd been advertising it to other people too. Nice. In this case, they hit the nail on the head with the marketing. If all the marketing was like that, ads wouldn't have such a bad aura around them. Personalized, exact, and in person, and by that last bit I mean an actual person at the other end that answered my response to the message within an hour. A huge plus to them.
I've actually been thinking of going to April's Synapsi for about a month now, a bit longer. Will have to see, although it'd sure be interesting. And convenient, if everything'd stop going wrong I'd be in Helsinki on the 8th anyway, and it's on the 9th. Although everything does appear to insist on going wrong, so I don't know...
