There are a lot of things that astound me about this City, but the thing that gets me the most is its response to simple things. I understand complaining about curses and even evil bastards who can't keep their hands to themselves. I don't like those things either, especially when those hands start to violate the wrong sorts of things. But even the simple things astound people these days.

That's right, everyone. It's raining.

Rain itself is defined as:

1 a: water falling in drops condensed from vapor in the atmosphere b: the descent of this water c: water that has fallen as rain : rainwater
2 a: a fall of rain : rainstorm bplural : the rainy season
3: rainy weather
4: a heavy fall

By Merriam-Webster. Of course, we should look a little deeper. Rain itself is precipitation, which can also come in other forms. Snow's a good example, too! I'll give you that definition, as well. Of course, it's a more general definition, as many things can precipitate.

1: the quality or state of being precipitate : hastiness
2: an act, process, or instance of precipitating ; especially : the process of forming a precipitate
3: something precipitated: as a: a deposit on the earth of hail, mist, rain, sleet, or snow ; also : the quantity of water deposited b: precipitate

I thought I'd do a service to everyone. I'm sure there are books and movies that involve rain. You might want to check them out sometime.

This has been Lyle Dylandy, delivering your weather lesson for the day.
