At what age should kids living with their parents have to pay rent?
I know some people who are well into their thirties, live at home and contribute nothing financially to the house and I think it's wrong. (Plus his mom still cleans his room but that's a whole other story)
And then on the other hand, I see parents who make their kids pay rent as soon as they have a job, regardless of whether they're still in high school or not.
Should kids have to pay rent when they reach a certain age no matter what they're doing? Does it make a difference if they're in school or working full time? What if they're working part time? Saving up for a house? Does it matter if the parents need the financial support or should the kid pay regardless?
I'm really curious to hear some opinions on this one, and/or personal experiences. Did/do you pay rent to your parents while living at their place? Were you working/in school?
