Is this supposed to be some kind of sick joke or something?

[It's clear from the video that he's holding a pumpkin, looking down at the face carved on it with an odd look on his face. In a way, he almost looks... sad.]

Or perhaps it's their idea of a sort of kindness. Bloody weird, but... [He trails off with a shrug.]

The kid, Toph- she had something I wanted, something from where I'm from, something that's very, very important to me and that I thought I'd never see again. She wouldn't give it to me unless I found out what happened to her friends. The thing is, though, she'd already been told by the staff what'd happened to them, but she didn't believe it.

So you see where I was- if I'd told her the same thing the staff did, she would never've believed me. She didn't believe them, so why would she believe me, right? It just doesn't make sense. So I had to tell her something, and yours was one of the first names I thought of. I don't know why, I'd just heard it around here. I gave her names- five, six, I can't remember. But it's not like it's done any harm; I'm sure she's figured out by now that it's not true, and I didn't tell anyone but her. It's not like I spread it about or something, mate. I swear, she's the only one I told.
