Once again I have been thinking of that "fan film" idea. I think I am actually pretty interested in it. I would actually rather make mini-series about something instead of just a movie and attempt to broadcast it over the internet for the viewing pleasure of others.
e.a. Henson and i kicked around an idea a long time ago, but never got it off the ground. I did manage to put together a model of the U.S.S. Enterprise A, but then decided to light it on fire.
First of all, I don't know anything about writing a script. If I was to come up with I wanted to write about, I wouldn't know where to start. I know I definitely would want it to be in the science fiction realm.
Next, how would I create it visually. I know nothing of making/inventing models. I think it would be fun to learn that stuff. Making a set would also pose a problem. Where would I build it and where would I film on it. Rent out a storage space? I don't know.
The special effects part would be fun to do. I mean you can't go wrong with blowing stuff up and imagining you're shooting lasers out of a gun. That would be the fun part. I also know that there's editing involved and blah, blah, blah. I would definitely want it to touch on all aspects of humanity.
Even though I don't have any experience in this, I think it would be a fun project to start researching and writing. Who knows, maybe I could make something cool.
Now, where to start...
