Konnichiha minna san. I am KANAME, a cosplayer from Chiba, Japan. I am very happy to meet you guys.
I once cosplay-ed One Piece's Portgas D Ace, Final Fantasy 7 Advent Children's Cloud Strife,
One Piece's Sanji, Bleach's Kurosaki Ichigo, Grimmjow and many more characters.
At start, I didn't have plans to want to become a cosplayer.
I was only at Cosplay events often as a spectator. If you ask me why, it's maybe i wanted to
cosplay my own favourite characters, like Kamen Rider characters, and not bothering about
how others look at me*. (laughs)
I have also once thought about this problem. After i cosplay-ed a character, i realised i am
more health consciouss, and i care more about my appearance. (pats his cheek)
My daily life quality also increased ** When you want to cosplay a character, you will be more
self-consciouss about your looks.
You will go to bed earlier, you won't stay up late and so on. You will become more health conscious.
Psychologically and mentally, you will change for the better.
Cosplayers don't have professional make-up artists, photographer and designer. You must design your
own costumes, put on make-up yourselve, need to do everything by yourself.
Take care of your figure and health, and customize a costume yourself, create your own hairstyle,
looks and even weapon (for characters with a weapon).
In the end, they will realise, when they cosplay, they will have lots of rewards.***
Recently, the number of people attending cosplay events as a cosplayer has increased.
Everyone wants to be much more cool, much more cute, and eventually, more and more people will
want to become cool and cute.
Everyone will want to be at their best when cosplaying. But those who have tried it out will have actually
found it difficult. Especially if you're someone who competes yourself. Thus, in the end, there is more
effort put in. The most important thing is, to feel happy when you're cosplaying. At the beginning
of cosplay, you must have this way of thinking;
*不需担心别人如何看我 - can be referred to as: how people look/think about him.
** Quality life - i think he is referring to his daily needs and so on?
*** Rewards might be the smile on peoples faces when they are pleased with your cosplay.
