"Well, maybe it is true. Maybe a long life does have to be filled with many unpleasant conditions if it's to seem long. but in that event, who wants one?"
"I do"
"Why?"
"What else is there?"

"There was only one catch and that was catch 22, which specified that a concern for one's own safety in the face of dangers that were real and immediate was the process of a rational mind. Orr was crazy and could be grounded. All he had to do was ask; and as soon as he did, he would no longer be crazy and would have to fly more missions. Orr would be crazy to fly more missions and sane if he didn't, but if he was sane he had to fly them. If he flew them he was crazy and didn't have to; but if he didn't want to he was sane and had to. Yossarian was moved very deeply by the absolute simplicity of this clause of Catch-22."

Today in photo, five of us sat outside and read Catch 22 outloud. we were yelling parts, laughing and totally confusing each other yet the period went faster than ever and it was hilarious. so if you haven't read it, go read catch 22.

i brought a blanket to school and slept. after visiting camp last night i was exhausted. so what if i'm still obsessed with camp bloomfield? so what if i can't wait to hear back from wildwood? i know i'm lame and i love it. just like i love the fact we do "the grizzly" every time and we make rice crispie treats and we know all the songs and we got to see Locust's cat suit and Grizzly and Locust attack a "punching man" and we still talk about the kids and laugh about Parshaw "slipping a little." maybe i just like the break from reality. who knows?
